To Love a Shadow, To Be the Sun novel Chapter 330

Ellis acted on pure instinct, yanking his father in front of him without warning—just as the blade plunged deep into Gareth’s chest.

Even the old matriarch was left speechless in her shock. Brian, on the other hand, merely looked away, his expression cold and unmoved.

Gareth stared at the son he’d spoiled since childhood, disbelief and despair written across his face.

As Ellis and his men were about to be subdued, Brian’s phone buzzed.

He glanced down, saw a voice message from Yves Caldwell, and his face darkened. He stepped out into the courtyard, thinking for a moment before dialing a number.

The Cloudcrest Hotel.

Zane was about to leave when Pearl caught him by the arm.

“Hey, you’re having breakfast with me,” she insisted.

He was on his way to Ignition Dynamics to have a much-needed conversation with that woman, so he answered coolly, “No time. If you want to sulk, be my guest—but don’t blame me if you go hungry.”

Pearl pouted. The whole family spoiled her—except him.

She snatched his car keys. “You’re not going anywhere unless you eat with me.”

He was about to retort when his phone rang.

The number was unfamiliar.

Normally, he would have ignored it, but something compelled him to answer.

“Put the keys back,” he ordered, striding to the window and picking up the call.

“Mr. Lawrence.”

Brian’s voice was calm and precise.

Zane pressed his lips together, his tone distant. “Mr. Vincent, I see you have your ways. Impressive, getting my number.”

Brian didn’t waste time. “I’d like to make a deal with you regarding my wife.”

Just then, a second call buzzed in. Zane glanced at the name on the screen, and his gaze sharpened. “Sorry. I don’t bargain over people.”
