Trapped in the boss's embrace (by Katrina A) novel Chapter 105

Chapter 105 Ask About Marriage Prospects

Damian and Beatrice couldn't help but marvel at Violet's knack for pushing the talisman.

She really knew how to pitch it with that determined aura.

Violet rolled her eyes slightly before turning around.

"Ms. Celestine is such a soft-hearted person! Her heart is as vast as the ocean, truly precious!"

Jane hurried over, gratefully accepting the prayer beads.

"Mrs. Jane Fairfax, remember, you must be sincere," Zara said earnestly.

"Sure thing, I got it," Jane nodded quickly, swiftly putting on the beads.

Having spent quite a sum, Jane, still covered in pig's blood and dirt, hurried out.

She planned to return in a week, and Zara promised to try and help her again.

It seems they have found themselves a cash cow.

As Jane left, Beatrice muttered softly, "Would it be too late to switch careers and do this?"

Damian raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by her remark.

Meanwhile, in the next room, Violet lifted her veil, revealing a sharp face.

"Ms. Celestine, my selling skills were way better today than usual. You really made a big profit today."

Zara opened her eyes, and everyone realized she had been pretending to be blind this whole time.

"Impressive, Ms. Hudson, you're really something. Would you consider partnering up? We could split the spoils," Zara suggested.

"Well, I can do anything well, but I prefer helping the weak and supporting justice," Violet said flatly.

"I'm just an old woman who loves money. That's my business. As for you, you always want to be the big-hearted one. We use each other's needs. You want to do your thing; I don't care. I only care about making money."

"Deal." Violet nodded, the agreement made.

As the two continued their business talk, Damian quietly pulled Beatrice's arm, guiding her out of the room and back to the waiting area.

They had barely sat down when the girl walked over.

"You four, it's your turn. Please follow me."

Beatrice glanced around, hesitant.

Should we go?

Damian flashed a casual smile.

"Let's go."

With Damian leading, the others followed naturally.

Since they were here, they might as well see how this plays out.

The girl led them, and instead of taking them back to the previous room, she took them to a new place.

It wasn't too surprising.

The old room was a wreck; no way could it host any guests anymore.

The new room was a bit more welcoming, exuding a simple yet elegant vibe.

Zara was sitting at the table.

She was alone at the incense burner table, with Violet nowhere in sight.

Without saying much, the four sat down.

"Welcome! How can I assist you?" Zara greeted them with a warm, mysterious smile.

Beatrice was about to casually ask a question when suddenly a polite, elegant voice interrupted her. "I want to ask about marriage."

Beatrice, Scarlett, and Ethan turned their heads in shock, staring at Damian.

This was a thunderbolt out of the blue.

Marriage issues?

How did he suddenly bring that up?

Beatrice really wished he'd ask about the weather or something.

Scarlett whispered, "Does he really need to bring this up now?"

Ethan chuckled. "Mr. Crowley, are you in a rush to find a wife?"

Zara remained calm and pulled out a piece of paper. "For love-related questions, I need your names, birth dates, and exact birth times."

Damian turned to Beatrice. "Can you write this for me?"

Beatrice sighed inwardly.

How should I know your exact birth time?

I'm not your mom!

Damian gently nudged her. "Please, be a good girl and help me out."

Good girl?

Really?

Then he turned and looked at Beatrice again.

Beatrice wished the ground would swallow her whole.

Damian said, his eyes shining with hope, "I hope it works for me too, Ms. Lawson. Can you pass it to me?"

Beatrice wanted to retort, "Go get it yourself!"

But the next second, she remembered her damned secretary role.

She bit back her annoyance, fetched the thing, and handed it to him.

Damian's long, elegant hand reached out in front of her. "Please put it on for me."

Beatrice reflexively retorted, "Don't you have hands?"

Suddenly, the air seemed to freeze.

Damian extended his hand, and though his face remained calm, it was clear he was displeased.

Three seconds later, Beatrice finally realized his irritation.

She quickly put the bracelet on and blurted out, "It really suits you! It's beautiful, really!"

Damian pulled his hand back and examined the bracelet carefully. "Ms. Celestine, does this really work?"

Unfazed, Zara smiled gently. "You know, love cannot be forced. Patience is key, and everything will fall into place at the right time."

Damian nodded thoughtfully. "That makes sense."

Ethan, noticing how much more energized Damian seemed after putting on the bracelet, spoke up. "Hey, Ms. Celestine, I want one of those bracelets too!"

Scarlett muttered, "Can't you mind your own business for once?"

Zara shrugged. "Sorry, those bracelets are all sold out. But I do have a pair of rings, perfect for you and your girlfriend. They'll add some extra magic to your relationship."

She then pulled out an exquisite box.

"Girlfriend?" Ethan looked around, confused.

Scarlett waved it off. "Forget it, Ms. Celestine. I already dumped him. The guy's too slow—don't want my future kids picking up his lack of brains."

Ethan stared at her in shock, muttering, "Is she talking about me?"

Beatrice shot him a side glance and teased, "Who else?"

Twenty minutes later, the four of them exited the back room.

Violet was waiting by the elevator, leaning against the wall with a smile. "Come to see Ms. Celestine, huh? I told you, you should've just come to me! My skills are no joke!"

When her eyes landed on the bracelet on Damian's wrist, she suddenly shouted, "Hey, why did you buy that?"

Her eyes sparkled with excitement, as if she'd figured something out. "Oh! You're into Beatrice, aren't you..."
