Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 109

Daniel was away on a business trip, but he still made a point to call and remind Aurora to take her medication on time.

As Aurora gently stroked her belly, she thought about how much she wanted a child, and so of course she would remember to take her pills.

She was in good spirits, so Daniel’s reminders didn’t annoy her the way they sometimes did.

“Yeah, I know,” she replied softly.

Daniel pictured the three of them together, a family, and felt a warmth bloom in his chest. “Aurora, wait for me to come home,” he said, unable to hide the eagerness in his voice.

He could barely stand the distance, wanting nothing more than to wrap her in his arms again.

But this project was too important to skip. He had no choice but to go.

Aurora sat staring at her phone, lost in thought, her feelings for Daniel growing even more complicated.

She could sense he was changing, trying to make up for the hurt he’d caused.

But some wounds, once inflicted, are impossible to take back.

She wasn’t sure if she could ever truly trust him again.

And then, there was Eleanor—his childhood friend.

Thinking of Eleanor led her to think of Samuel.

She’d already spoken to a lawyer and formally filed a lawsuit against Samuel; the hearing would be soon.

It meant her ties to the Quinn family were about to be severed for good.

She glanced over at her grandmother, fast asleep in the hospital bed.

Even though Grandma Grace had told her, time and again, to do what she believed was right, Aurora knew how much pain this was causing her.

The night passed slowly.

In the morning, the housekeeper brought up Aurora’s medication, and one for Grandma Grace as well.

Grandmother and granddaughter exchanged a gentle smile, both recognizing the rare peace in each other’s eyes.

After finishing her meds, Aurora rinsed out her cup.

But as she stepped back into the room, the door suddenly swung open.

Jordan stormed in, flanked by several men.

Aurora’s face tightened. “How did you get in here?”

“Jordan, I won’t ask Aurora to do anything. Give it up,” Grandma Grace said, her breath coming in short gasps.

“If you have a problem, take it up with me,” Aurora spat, struggling against the men holding her down, only for one of them to shove her to the floor.

Her cheek pressed hard against the cold tile.

Tears sprang to her eyes, stinging with pain and humiliation.

“Aurora!” Grandma Grace cried out in panic—her wrinkled face etched with fear, tears rolling helplessly down her cheeks.

Jordan still wouldn’t let her approach.

Aurora’s face throbbed, her eyes burning with hatred, but she forced herself to reassure her grandmother through gritted teeth.

“I’m okay, Grandma.”

Her hatred for Jordan reached its peak.

All for Samuel, they were willing to break Grandma’s heart.

How could someone so gentle have such a cold-blooded son?

Jordan steeled himself. “If you won’t help, Mom, then I’ll have no choice but to take Aurora away.”
