Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 113

Bang!

Just as Aurora’s knees were about to hit the floor, the hospital room door burst open.

Daniel and Mr. Hogan Chambers appeared in the doorway at the same time.

Aurora looked up, her eyes burning with tears.

Her lips moved soundlessly as she mouthed, “Dan.”

Daniel strode in, his face like a winter storm, and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her into his embrace.

“Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”

He was seething with rage, barely restraining himself from tearing Jordan and Samuel apart right then and there.

Aurora steadied herself, then gently pushed Daniel away so she could help her grandmother.

Daniel assisted her.

Grandma Grace settled on the edge of the bed, clutching her chest as she struggled to catch her breath.

Her vision was swimming, yet she forced herself to stay upright, determined to shield Aurora from harm.

Jordan stole a glance at Mr. Hogan Chambers, searching for a clue to his mood.

But Mr. Hogan Chambers’ face was unreadable, betraying nothing.

After a moment’s pause, Jordan cleared his throat and said, “Dan, we’re here to bring Grandma and Aurora home.”

His tone was suddenly overly polite.

Daniel straightened, his eyes so dark they seemed bottomless, and turned to Samuel. “Samuel, you’ve really outdone yourself this time.”

He wanted nothing more than to protect Aurora, to keep her safe, but these people kept hurting her.

Samuel paled.

Jordan forced a laugh, hoping to smooth things over. “They’re just siblings fooling around, that’s all.”

Daniel ignored him, his voice cold as ice. “If you’re so fond of kneeling, why don’t you kneel before Grandma right now?”

Samuel stared at him in disbelief. He’d always considered himself on good terms with Daniel—yet Daniel was asking him to kneel?

He knew taking a knee for Grandma meant conceding to Aurora as well. He had no intention of doing any such thing.

Aurora’s eyes were swollen and red. Her grandmother’s hand was icy cold, her face ashen.

This was the best protection Grandma Grace could offer Aurora.

Otherwise, with the way things were spiraling, Aurora would be ruined by their endless harassment.

“No way,” Jordan objected at once.

Samuel’s eyes were bloodshot, burning with resentment as he glared at Grandma Grace. “I’m not leaving the country.”

“Then what do you want?” Grandma Grace’s voice rose in sudden anger. “Are you saying Aurora should just let you walk all over her?”

Aurora knew her grandmother was standing up for her, but she couldn’t bear to see her so upset.

Her grandmother’s unwavering support was enough to warm her battered heart.

Grandma’s well-being mattered more than anything.

“Grandma, I’m fine,” Aurora whispered, trying to reassure her, though tears spilled down her cheeks again.

She didn’t want to cry, didn’t want to worry her grandmother.

But the pain and injustice were more than she could hold back.
