"Both babies are healthy!"

At the hospital in the OB-GYN department, Drusilla Lawson clutched her registration papers, a sigh of relief escaping her lips upon hearing the doctor's words.

Seven months into her pregnancy, she had endured more than her fair share of discomforts. Now, knowing both her babies were healthy, it all seemed worthwhile.

It was just past 7 PM when she heard the sound of keys turning in the lock. She quickly stood up. "Honey!"

Harlan Stanton appeared at the doorway. Upon hearing her, he didn’t look up, possibly drained from a long day at work. Without a word, he just lowered his head to change his shoes.

"I went for a check-up today, and the babies are super healthy."

Harlan had a meeting today and couldn’t accompany her, so she went alone. The hospital wasn’t far, so it wasn't a big deal.

Drusilla said cheerfully, "I was just thinking about baby names. What do you think we should name them?"

This was their third year of marriage, and their families had been longing for a child for quite some time. Especially Harlan's mother, who would call every now and then to inquire about their pregnancy status.

The news of the children had brought immense joy to the family. Despite the hardships of pregnancy, the thought of welcoming two adorable little ones made everything seem worth it.

Harlan had finished changing his shoes but didn’t look the least bit happy. "Let's terminate the pregnancy."

"What...what?" Drusilla, still basking in the glow of her happy expectations, was taken aback by Harlan's words. She must have heard wrong. He actually wanted to terminate the pregnancy?

Drusilla was 21 when she married Harlan. They had dated for two years, and throughout that time, Harlan had always been kind to her, never laying a finger on her. Drusilla was conservative, not quite open to the idea of premarital relations. She thought they would discuss it after getting married, only to discover that Harlan was infertile - he simply couldn’t have children.
