Drusilla continued, “ It's because I'm so head over heels for you. But we've got this pact, right? So here I am, biting my tongue, trying not to fall any deeper. If living together, what if I end up loving you more and you decide to bail on me? That would just be pitiful, wouldn't it? I've been through a divorce; getting dumped again isn't exactly on my wish list."

The guy was a piece of work, totally full of himself. Ever since they tied the knot, he was so afraid that she’d become clingy.

He sat on the hospital bed, casually munching on his food.

"Um, this isn't quite the response I was hoping for," Drusilla thought, puzzled by his nonchalance.

And what was with him and his constant snacking anyway? A little conversation wouldn't hurt, buddy!

After finishing his bowl of oatmeal, Enoch glanced at Drusilla and said, "I know you're into me a long time back. Letting you move in was also giving you a chance. If it weren't for the fact that you're somewhat useful—and gave me a glimmer of hope—I wouldn't even consider sharing a bed with you."

His tone made it sound like he was doing her a favor.

Drusilla couldn’t help but roll her eyes internally.

Was this guy for real? So much for following the script.

Enoch looked up, noticing Drusilla's near-tearful expression, and teased, "What, are you moved to tears? You look like you're about to start sobbing."

Drusilla was speechless.

Moved? As if! She was downright infuriated!
