Drusilla rolled her eyes at her friend's suggestion, wordless with exasperation. "Fine, you do that. I'm off to take a shower." She said.
With that, she walked into her room to take a bath.
She washed her face and also removed her makeup at the same time. The water sound reminded her of that kiss with Enoch, and made her cheeks burn so hot she felt like steam might start coming out of her ears.
Oh, gosh!
How silly she was!
She couldn't believe she had actually gone through with it.
And now, would Enoch stir up trouble for her family after she ran back home like this?
Ah, whatever. She'd worry about it tomorrow!
She had been running around all day and was utterly exhausted. All she wanted now was to rest.
...
The next morning, Drusilla woke up and immediately checked her phone, half-expecting a call from Hestia telling her Enoch was furious and planning some elaborate scheme to bankrupt their family.
But there was no such call.
Verena and Colton were still asleep, while Cormac had already gotten up and was busy with his live stream.
While Drusilla was making breakfast in the kitchen, Cormac came over with her phone, "Mom, your phone was ringing."
Hearing her phone, Drusilla's heart skipped a beat, but she picked up the call nonetheless.
It was Oberon on the line, sounding not at all like he was about to scold her, "Ma'am, Mr. Taylor wanted me to ask when you'll be coming over today."
She was supposed to help Enoch with his treatment session.
"Wait, he's not mad?" Drusilla asked.
It seemed like he wasn't holding a grudge about her running off according to what he said.
"Mad?" Oberon continued. "Did you do something to upset Mr. Taylor?"
It seemed Enoch hadn't mentioned anything.
