Drusilla shrugged and said, "Mr. Taylor, you're overthinking things. Being your wife keeps me so busy that I can't wait for Odette to come back so I can finally get a breather and do my own thing."
Whatever he asked of her, she had to do, and it almost took over her entire life. And she had kids to think about too! Marrying Enoch had completely derailed her original plans.
Enoch said, "Your own thing? Besides taking care of the kids, what else do you have to do?"
"Work, date, find a man to marry! Those are my real priorities. Now, being your wife, it doesn't exactly look good for me to be out there hunting for men, does it?"
Hearing her talk about dating and finding a man to marry made Enoch frown.
Although she made sense, and eventually, they would part ways and find their own partners, she was still his wife, and these were her thoughts?
For some reason, he felt a tinge of jealousy.
Drusilla glanced at the clock and asked, "Is your mom coming over today?"
"She said she would." Enoch replied absentmindedly. "She should be on her way by now. Why do you ask?"
"I'm wondering if I should wait for her to arrive before heading back or just leave now."
Enoch, still hung up on her earlier words, raised an eyebrow. "In a hurry to find a man?"
"No, just feels like there's not much for me here."
"As my wife, with me in the hospital, you're obviously supposed to stay by my side." He didn’t see the point in pampering her more than necessary. Coddling someone else’s future wife wasn’t his cup of tea.
So, Enoch figured he should keep her a bit busier.
Drusilla said, "I mean... it's not like there's much I can do here in the hospital."
"My mom would be happy to see you here."
Drusilla sighed, "Enoch, I must say, you're quite the mama's boy."
