Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 325

Amara was utterly taken aback. She had always heard that Emma came from a prominent family and spent years abroad, so she expected her to be the picture of grace and dignity. Yet here she was, acting like a madwoman, yanking at Amara's hair right from the get-go.

What Amara didn't know was that even before marriage, Emma had a fiery temper. After tying the knot, Finnian’s father had a notorious reputation for fooling around, bringing one woman after another into their home. Emma found herself constantly battling these women, not just with words but often in physical altercations. Over time, it turned her into someone with a sharp and combative nature.

“Everyone, stop right there!”

A commanding voice cut through the chaos, bringing everyone to an abrupt halt as they turned to see who it was.

Mr. Kevin Everly stood at the doorway, leaning on his cane, glaring at the group. Amara quickly rushed over to him, calling out “Grandpa!” as she helped steady him.

Kevin patted her arm reassuringly before pointing his cane at Emma. “You crazy woman! You finally come home and cause such a ruckus! What on earth are you doing?”

“Dad, why are you siding with an outsider?” Emma exclaimed, clearly astonished by the warmth between Amara and Mr. Kevin Everly.

Kevin had been roused from sleep by the commotion and wasn’t privy to the events that led to the altercation. However, he knew Amara well enough to trust her character. Knowing Amara as someone who was fair and principled, he assumed the fault lay with Emma and immediately directed his ire at her.

He turned to Lisa, his trusted confidante, and asked, “What happened here?”

Lisa, unfazed by Emma, recounted every detail of Emma’s insults, including the slurs she hurled at Amara.

Upon hearing this, Kevin was furious. He pointed at Emma and said, “Ama and Finn may be divorced, but she’s like a granddaughter to me. She’s welcome in the Everly family whenever she pleases. Who do you think you are to question that?”

Andrew Everly, Finnian’s father, was the subject of Kevin’s next cutting remark. “If he shows up, I’ll throw him out too! Neither of you are welcome here. Now leave!”

The situation had escalated to a point where even Emma, with all her bravado, couldn’t justify staying. She shot Amara a venomous look before storming out.

Kevin, visibly drained, leaned heavily on his cane, his breath coming in ragged gasps. The encounter had clearly taken its toll.

Amara gently guided Kevin back to his chair, concerned. “Grandpa, did you really just kick Mrs. Emma Everly out like that?”

Despite Emma and Andrew having spent years abroad, they were still part of the Everly family. Amara was genuinely surprised that Kevin would banish them so decisively.
