Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 349

These past few days, every time someone mentioned her growing belly, Liliana couldn't help but think about the unresolved situation with Hogan.

She picked up the phone to call the caregiver who was staying at the hospital with Hogan, asking about his condition.

The caregiver's voice was laced with cheer, "The treatment is showing some results. Although the young master hasn't woken up yet, he did move his finger this morning. The doctor says it's a good sign, and he might wake up in a couple of days."

Liliana's heart sank at this news, though she didn't let it show. She uttered a few cheerful words and hung up.

Finnian, who seemed to be already aware of the situation, didn't ask any questions. Liliana pretended to pour herself a cup of tea, her fingers gripping the cup so tightly, fear was washing over her in waves.

As if things couldn't get worse, Liliana received another call. Whatever was said on the other end startled her so much that she accidentally dropped the cup.

With a loud crash, the porcelain shattered on the floor, the sound echoing through the quiet lounge. Finnian stood up and asked, "What happened?"

Liliana's arms were trembling, but she tried to keep her composure. She hung up the phone and turned to Finnian, saying, "It's something with my mom. Nothing serious. I just lost my grip on the cup. I'll go check on her."

"Alright, I'll take you."

"No need, I can go by myself," Liliana insisted. "Don't you have work to do, Finn? You should go take care of that."

It was rare for Liliana to refuse Finnian's company, and with other matters on his mind, he didn't think much of it. He nodded, got up, and left.

After leaving the lounge, Finnian didn't immediately return to the office. Instead, he lingered around the set.

As the primary investor in the film, it was perfectly normal for him to be there, and no one questioned his presence.
