Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 368

The thought made Liliana clench her fists, her eyes darkening with a stormy intensity.

Before long, the first of the month rolled around. Whispers of Winter would wrap up filming in just over two weeks, and the set was a whirlwind of activity. Everyone’s workload had doubled or even tripled, but no one complained. The sooner they finished, the sooner they could rest; the whole team was fueled by the finish line in sight.

As head writer, Amara was naturally working overtime, revising scripts late into the night. This evening was no different—she was still at her desk past nine o’clock.

A knock came at her door. “Come in,” she called, barely glancing up. Keith strolled in like he owned the place, flopping onto the couch and pouring himself a glass of water with the comfort of someone at home.

He took a leisurely sip before saying, “Have you noticed? Lately, Finnian and Liliana seem to be getting even closer.”

Amara paused, then resumed typing, her eyes on the screen. “Weren’t they always joined at the hip? How much closer could they get?”

“I can’t quite put my finger on it,” Keith replied, shaking his head. “It’s just… Finnian’s gone the extra mile for Liliana these past few days. You haven’t noticed him running back and forth on set? The way he looks after her—he’s doting on her nonstop.”

“Wasn’t there a time someone joked that Finnian took better care of Liliana than I take care of you?” Amara recalled, her chest tightening for a split second as she remembered Louis’ teasing words that had left Liliana visibly upset.

She masked it with a casual tone. “What’s the big deal? Didn’t Liliana just have a miscarriage? She’s been through hell lately—of course Finnian’s going to be extra attentive.”

“True enough.”

Keith kept a close eye on Amara’s expression, only relaxing when he saw no trace of sadness.
