The memory of Kaia in that playful bunny outfit still lingered in Lucien’s mind, sparking all sorts of wild ideas that kept him distracted day and night.

When Alyssa noticed Kaia’s flushed cheeks as she selected a

crisp white blouse and sleek black mini–skirt, everything fell into place.

Kaia didn’t even bother trying them on. She just grabbed the smallest size and headed straight for the checkout.

Alyssa let out a mischievous giggle. “Oh, Kaia, one outfit? That’s not gonna survive the night…”

“Shush!” Kaia hissed, clapping a hand over Alyssa’s mouth, her face burning.

Seeing Kaia’s cheeks practically glowing, Alyssa relented, dropping the teasing with a grin.

They wandered through a few more stores, but Alyssa still hadn’t found a wedding dress that stole her heart.

Kaia gave her a reassuring pat. “No rush. You’ve got time before

the big day. Why not go custom at a studio?”

Off–the–rack dresses were rarely perfect. Alyssa nodded, conceding. “Yeah, you’re right.”

Malcolm waved off the question. “Mr. Halston, I have full confidence in your team’s expertise. For certain cross–border matters, we need someone who knows the local landscape inside and out.”

Jude’s lips twitched, a spark of recognition hitting him.

It dawned on him that Malcolm had probably come through Lucien’s recommendation.

No wonder he kept emphasizing “the team.” This was about Kaia.

Jude’s mind flicked to Kaia’s upcoming evaluation for non–equity partner at year’s end, and he seized the chance.

“Fantastic! Thank you, Mr. Vane,” Jude said eagerly. “I’ll call the team and get them back to the office.”
