Malcolm sighed, “Not good. Ever since your grandmother passed, he’s been bedridden.”

Just then, her phone buzzed inside her bag. She picked it up. “Lucien?”

“Chris said he couldn’t find you. Where are you? Did something happen?” Lucien’s voice was tense with worry.

Kaia smiled, “Sorry, I forgot to tell Chris. I’m with my uncle.”
