Wedding My Ex's Uncle (Kaia and Alden) novel Chapter 64

Chapter 64 Marry you

Lucien’s gaze dropped to the half-empty glass in front of him. A slow, almost disbelieving smile tugged at his lips.

His voice was low, hoarse, and laced with a drunken warmth.

“…Have you decided to marry me?”

Landon, sitting beside him, rolled his eyes.

Damn it.

It was obvious that Lucien was the one chasing after her.

Kaia held the phone tightly. She was a bit nervous as she stared at the closed door in front of her. Then she rang the doorbell.

The door opened, and there stood Lucien in loose-fitting black silk pajamas. His hair was still damp from the shower, and water droplets rolled down his sexy collarbone, disappearing into the front of his pajamas.

Kaia’s ears turned bright red in an instant.

“Lucien… Did you just wake up?”

Lucien raised an eyebrow slightly, lips curving in the faintest hint of a smirk.

“Yeah. We agreed on nine,” he said, voice low and smooth. “Why are you here early?”

He leaned back, eyes sweeping over her. “Can’t wait, huh?”

Kaia was at a loss for words.

Why did she feel that the usually self-disciplined Lucien had become so flirty?

Kaia cleared her throat softly, looking down at her toes. “It’s not that early, just ten minutes.”

The fresh scent of shower gel gradually faded away as Lucien walked back.

“Come on in,” Lucien said.

Kaia watched his broad back and the calf that was slightly exposed. She quietly closed the door behind her.

At the entrance, there was a pair of pink rabbit-themed slippers.

Kaia slipped them on and followed him inside.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that Lucien was

wearing blue rabbit slippers.

They seemed to be a matching couple’s set.

Kaia was momentarily stunned.

Is Lucien really single?

Lucien sank into the sofa, tugging his slightly open pajama collar closed with one hand. He lounged back lazily, legs crossed, completely at ease.

“So,” he drawled, “what did you want to talk about?”

little..

He noticed Kaia standing there, looking a little… distracted. Her eyes were locked on his slippers.

Lucien followed her gaze, then raised a brow in mild

amusement.

“These?” He wiggled his foot slightly. “Got them free with a supermarket haul. Just grabbed whatever. Not cute enough for you?”

So that’s where they were from.

Kaia had been struggling with how to start the conversation, and hearing this, she let out a little sigh of relief.

“Actually, they’re quite nice. The rabbits are so cute. Rabbits are my favorite animals,” she said.

“Really?” Lucien gave her a half-smile. “Look over there. A friend gave me one, and it doesn’t have a name yet. Any ideas?”

Kaia’s eyes lit up, and she became more at ease. “Lucien, you

have a rabbit too?

“Wow, she’s so cute. She’s so white and looks so pretty.”

Kaia couldn’t resist reaching out to scratch the rabbit’s back. “So well-behaved. Little bunny, you don’t have a name yet. Are you a girl? How about naming you Molly?”

Lucien looked at his male rabbit and said, “Well, Molly is good. Let’s call it Molly then.”

The rabbit probably felt a bit confused, since he was actually a boy.

After spending a few minutes playing with the rabbit, Kaia finally remembered the purpose of her visit today.

She sat back down across from Lucien, clenching her hands nervously on her knees. She licked her lips and said, “About what

said before, about getting married, I’ve thought about the possibility.

“If you don’t mind that I broke off the engagement with your nephew, I’m willing to marry you.”

Lucien’s Adam’s apple bobbed. “Are you sure?”

“Yeah, it’d be a lucky break for me to marry you,” Kaia said, looking down, not daring to meet Lucien’s eyes.

“Not at all,” Lucien replied.

Lucien licked his lips. Hearing her say she was willing made his heartbeat quickened…

He grabbed a pillow from the sofa and placed it on his lap. “Your grandma just passed away. How about we get the marriage license and hold the wedding in a year?”

Kaia’s eyes dulled in an instant. “No. Just wait for two months.”

Grandma, I really can’t wait any longer.

Grandma, please forgive me for this.

She was itching to settle the score with those people.
