She refused to leave and shouted at the gate until Melanie, probably embarrassed by the scene, finally came out with the servants‘ help. Standing behind the iron gate, Melanie ordered Selina to kneel outside.

Selina had no choice and knelt.

The ground was cold and hard. The night wind was biting. Every now and then, passersby pointed at her.

She thought of how Anneliese had once been made to kneel in the yard all night because of her scheming.

But now, things had changed. Selina realized she had underestimated Anneliese.

Still, she believed she could turn things around. Anneliese had pushed her into this mess. she would never let Anneliese live comfortably either.

With sheer stubbornness, Selina knelt outside the villa for more than two hours until she finally fainted.

Melanie, feeling some pity, had the servants carry Selina into the living room.

Knowing how good Selina was at acting, Melanie went up and pinched her philtrum to wake her up.

Selina slowly opened her eyes, then threw her arms around Melanie and cried, “Mom, please don’t abandon me,”

While hugging her, she secretly pulled out a few strands of Melanie’s hair.

Melanie came to her senses and shoved Selina away. She stood up, furious.

“I’m not your mom. Your mom is that shameless Mikita. Since you already reunited with her and hid it from us, stop pretending in front of me. I find it disgusting.”
