Chapter 480 Tracing the Truth
Anneliese thought about it for a moment, took a deep breath, and nodded.
I’ll make time in the next couple of days to fly over to Madfell and meet Sylvia.”
Jonathan frowned right away. Flying all the way to Madfell would wear her out.

“I’ll have someone bring Sylvia here,” he said thoughtfully. “It’ll be more convenient if you want to take her to pay respects to Old Mrs. White.”
Anneliese’s eyes lit up. “You really think of everything.”
Jonathan kept his gaze on her. “What about you?”
“What about me?” She looked confused.
He sighed. “You’re not the White family’s daughter. Have you ever thought about finding your real parents?”
She hadn’t really considered it–maybe she just didn’t want to. After everything that happened with the White family, her hopes and longing for parental love had been slowly worn away.
Seeing her fall silent, Jonathan pulled her into his arms, kissed the top of her head, and spoke gently. “Don’t think about it for now. Just let things happen naturally.”
“Okay.”
He patted her back, though he’d already instructed Zion to investigate her background. Not knowing the truth was like sitting on a ticking time bomb. When Melanie eventually realized Selina wasn’t her daughter, he probably panicked. He must have feared she and her children would keep searching for their real daughter and sister, eventually tracing everything back to Mikita. So he brought home a fake to
appease them”
Anneliese still couldn’t understand how such a huge mistake had happened otherwise.
Jonathan shook his head. “Don’t forget why Timothy is still locked up.”
She froze as she remembered that Timothy had been suspected of working with Mikita to traffic and abandon children, and it was Jonathan who had blocked his bail.
If Timothy had known from the start that she wasn’t the real daughter, he would have told the police long

ago to secure his release, especially during White Inc.’s critical period. It was apparent he had no idea.
Anneliese frowned. “Then there’s a third party involved. Who could it be? And why would they do something like this?”
Jonathan saw she was getting upset and gently pinched her nose. “I’ll have someone go to Baytree and find out what really happened back then.”
She nodded, then leaned forward and kissed him. “Hubby, you’re going to spoil me rotten.”
