When She Walks Away (Teresa) novel Chapter 100

Chapter 100

Chapter 100

Sylvia’s teasing made Teresa’s cheeks turn red.

“Sylvia, stop joking around,” Teresa said, nudging Sylvia’s elbow with a straight face.

Sylvia knew Teresa wasn’t the type to be super open–minded, but she still blurted out, “Think about it. You can’t just stay stuck with one guy forever. You’ve been with Charles. Why not try someone else? Otherwise, life is going to be pretty dull, right? And let’s not forget that he was the one who cheated first.”

Teresa pressed her lips together and forced a smile. “Forget it. Let’s not talk about this anymore.”

Sylvia decided not to push it any further and dropped the subject.

They continued strolling around, trying out some of Riverdale’s local snacks.

As it was almost ten o’clock, Sylvia finally said she was tired and needed to head back to rest.

Teresa walked Sylvia to the hotel, and right before Sylvia got out, she suddenly remembered something. She quickly rummaged through her bag and pulled out a small box. “Here, this is for you. I remembered your birthday is coming up.”

As Teresa accepted the gift, her eyes turned red. “Thank you, Sylvia,” she said softly.

Ever since she married Charles, Teresa had cut off contact with her family. Every year, Yvonne would secretly send her birthday wishes. and wire her a generous amount of money.

But aside from Yvonne, no one else ever remembered her birthday.

It had been years since Teresa had actually celebrated her birthday.

If Sylvia hadn’t mentioned it, Teresa would’ve totally forgotten her twenty–seventh birthday was coming up in a few days.

Sylvia could see how much it hurt Teresa, so she hugged her and said, “You need to treat yourself better. Don’t waste your feelings on those who don’t deserve it.”

Teresa rested her head on Sylvia’s shoulder and murmured a soft reply.

Before they parted ways, Teresa suddenly asked, Oh, by the way, Hector is in Riverdale too. Don’t you want to see him?”

Sylvia’s smile faded, and she shook her head. “No. I still remember how he shot me down when I confessed.”

During their fifth year internship in college, Sylvia had confessed her feelings to Hector.

Not many people knew about it, but Teresa was one of them.

Hector had turned Sylvia down, saying he wasn’t ready for a relationship at the time.

After that, Sylvia never reached out to Hector again.

“Alright, I won’t force you to see him, Teresa said.

Sylvia got out of the car and stood by the door. “Alright, you should head back. Drive safely, and text me when you get home.”

By the time Teresa arrived at Joyacre Villa, it was already eleven at night.

She figured Yolanda would be asleep by now, so she tried to be as quiet as possible when she went upstairs.

But when she opened the bedroom door, the bed was empty. Yolanda was nowhere to be seen,

Teresa’s heart raced with panic. She hurried to Charles’s room, but there was still no sign of Yolanda.

Sharon hurried upstairs when she heard the noise:

Seeing Teresa all flustered, she quickly said. “Mrs Logan, Miss Yolanda went with Mr Collins earlier tonight. Mr. Logan told him to *

Teresa breathed a sigh of relief, but still asked, puzzled, “Where did Liam take Yolanda?*

Sharon paused and then said, “Since Mr. Logan told him to, I didn’t ask much. But from what Mr. Collins said, it sounded like they were going to see Mr. Logan.”

‘Wait a second, Teresa thought, they’re not going to see Charles at all. They’re heading to see Naomi.

Out of concern for Yolanda, she decided, “I’ll call Charles.”

Once she was back in her room, Teresa called Charles.

He picked up almost immediately.

“Has Yolanda arrived?” Teresa asked, getting straight to the point.

Charles’s voice came through. “Yeah, she just got here.”

At the same time, Teresa could hear Yolanda and Naomi’s voices in the background.

She couldn’t make out what they were saying, but Yolanda was laughing, her tone

Teresa didn’t want to listen anymore, so she said, “Alright, gotta go.”

tone sweet and a little coquettish.

But just as she was about to end the call, Charles suddenly said, “Teresa, I need to talk to you about something.”

After Hector left, Teresa studied alone for a while. By the time her eyes were tired and her head was pounding, she finally looked up.

Only then did she realize it was already dark outside.

Teresa jumped in shock. When she turned, she saw Troy glaring at her with resentment.

effortlessly right up to him.

“How… how did you get into my car?” Teresa stammered, her voice shaking with panic.

Troy ignored her question. He leaned in toward her, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her

They were so close now that the air between them was thick with a charged, intimate tension, their scents mingling in the confined space.

Teresa’s eyelashes trembled. As Troy stared into her deep eyes, the way her lashes kept fluttering every time.

own seemed to tangle up his thoughts

When he finally spoke again, his voice was low and heavy with emotion. “Tell me. Why did you give back the items I gave you?” Troy looked like he was about to blow a fuse. But the second his eyes locked with Teresa’s, his anger just melted away, no matter how hard he tried to keep it together. Without even realizing it, he loosened his grip on her wrist.

He saw her brows knit together and realized he must’ve hurt her.

She tried to pull away, but even though Troy wasn’t really holding her that tight, she still couldn’t get loose.

She looked at him helplessly. “Troy, you don’t owe me anything. It’s not right for you to give me something so expensive. We’re not that close. I really can’t accept them.”

Troy was notorious in their circle for being a flirt and a big spender.

He was always splurging on women, dropping cash like it was nothing.

Even if most of it was just rumors, Teresa had actually seen him go wild bidding for a bracelet at an auction, throwing money around like it was water.

Her words seemed to piss Troy off. He tightened his grip on her hand and leaned in even closer.

Before she knew it, his nose brushed against hers.

They were so close and their breaths tangled together, thick with tension.

Teresa tried to move away, but Troy clamped his hand around the back of her head, holding her firmly in place.

At that moment, she couldn’t move at all.

His body pressed closer, and it felt to her like he was wrapped in fire.

Their lips were almost touching

She panicked, her voice trembling as she pleaded, “Troy, don’t do this. I’m Charles‘ wife.”
