Troy stood out in the crowd, his tall frame and striking looks drawing glances from everyone passing by.

Right now, in the midst of all that attention, Troy only had eyes for Naomi, his gaze locked onto her with a subtle, almost teasing smile.
He watched her, a gentle smile lingering on his face.
Even though he was the center of attention, Troy wasn’t interested in anyone else but Naomi. That alone made a bunch of girls shoot her jealous looks, wishing they could trade places with her.
Naomi couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride seeing all those eyes on her.
With so many girls clearly jealous of her, she definitely felt a bit smug–there was no hiding that sense of being on top.
Even though Troy had clearly shot her down, Naomi just refused to believe it. Deep down, she was sure that no matter what, she was the one who could grab his attention.
Flashing an adorable smile, she pressed on, “So, Mr. Hamilton, who’s your sweetheart?”
Just thinking about the wish Naomi wrote on that lotus lantern made Troy feel like he could gag.
‘Seriously, where did she even get the guts to wish for something like that?‘ he thought.
only the third girl he ever found honestly annoying.
Troy had once told Stella she was

basically couldn’t help but crush on him—he had that star power,
He was funny, filthy rich, and pretty charming–seriously, what woman wouldn’t have a thing for him?
And it’s not like Troy ever really hated many women, either.
He wasn’t just saying it to Stella that day–he actually meant every word.
The first woman Troy ever truly disliked was Roselyn, because she bullied Teresa.
The second was Naomi–she took Teresa’s happiness, but wouldn’t even take Charles away for good.
Normally, Troy wouldn’t even bother faking a smile at a woman he couldn’t stand. But as soon as he remembered Naomi’s ridiculous wish, a devious idea suddenly formed in his mind.
“The higher she climbs, the nastier that crash will be, Troy thought with a cold smirk.
Without any hesitation, Troy met Naomi’s gaze and said flatly, “My sweetheart is Teresa. She’s the only one I’ll ever listen to.”
Naomi’s smile faltered for a moment, but she managed a faint, casual grin. “Mr. Hamilton, maybe you aren’t aware, but Teresa-”
Troy jumped in before she could go further, not giving her a chance to smear Teresa. “Ms. Yates, honestly, you’re stunning, and I won’t lie–I did feel something. But you’re with Charles, so….”
He left the sentence unfinished, deliberately letting the implication linger in the air.
Troy had dealt with plenty of girls, and he knew exactly what girls like Naomi were after.
She wanted every man’s gaze fixed on her, craved that feeling of being worshipped, being the queen bee in a sea of admirers.
And since that’s exactly what she was after, Troy was only too willing to play along–just to see how high she’d fly before crashing down.
As soon as he finished speaking. Troy studied Naomi’s expression, curious to see her reaction.
The instant she heard him say he really did have feelings for her, color rushed to her cheeks and her heart raced wildly in her chest.
Charles treated her like his most precious treasure, but for Naomi, being the center of just one man’s world was never enough.
She craved Troy’s affection, wanted Hector hanging on her every word, Jason adoring her, and Finn completely infatuated. She always wanted more—never just content with what she had.

Troy didn’t beat around the bush, and Naomi picked up on his reservations instantly. She didn’t challenge him directly–her voice gentle as she replied, “Mr. Hamilton, honestly, Charles and I might not even end up together in the end.”
She said it that way on purpose, clearly dropping hints that she wanted Troy and Charles to fight over her.
Troy caught her drift, but didn’t play along. Hands stuffed coolly in his pockets, he smirked, “Ms. Yates, a girl as gorgeous as you—it’s just too bad I can’t have you. Ah, guess that’s one of life’s big regrets.”
Troy was honestly surprised Naomi would go that far with the flirting. He gave her a wicked little smirk, his tone lazy and teasing. “Looks like the feeling’s mutual, but too bad you’re already taken by Charles. Otherwise, Ms. Yates, I’d love the chance to get a little more hands–on–what a shame, huh?”
He deliberately kept things brazen, expecting Naomi to get flustered or back down. Instead, her face flushed scarlet and she lowered her voice until it was just a faint whisper, “Mr. Hamilton, to be honest… I’m still a virgin.”
She leaned in, her voice silky and teasing. “Mr. Hamilton, mind if we swap WhatsApp?”
Troy’s mind had been miles away, but her words finally snapped him back to reality.
no?”
He paused for a second, then flashed her a devil–may–care grin. “If the girl who makes my heart race is asking, how could I possibly say
With that, he pulled out his phone and added her on WhatsApp.
As soon as the request went through, Naomi couldn’t hide her excitement, grinning from ear to ear.
But Troy had already lost interest in dealing with her. His face grew distant as he said, “I’ve got things to take care of. I’m heading out.”
Without giving her a chance to say anything else, he walked away without even a second glance.

Chapter 177
As Troy strode away without a second thought, Naomi smugly imagined he was already scheming ways to chase after her.
Just that possibility put Naomi in an absolutely fantastic mood.

Even the lingering shadow from getting hurt at the party a couple of days ago was dissolving–Troy’s attention totally blew those blues
away.
Meanwhile, back at Joyacre Villa, Teresa and Charles had just come home to find Yolanda still burning up with fever, now almost out cold.
Teresa hurried to get Yolanda some water, sponged her down, then picked her up and carried her downstairs.
Charles rushed after her, a bundle of nerves, totally panicking and having no clue what to do.
Teresa couldn’t help feeling annoyed, watching Charles panic but not actually helping at all. ‘Seriously, he’s just getting in the way she thought.
“Charles, can you stop pacing around like a headless chicken? Yolanda’s sick–she needs to get to the hospital. Go start the car she snapped.
Charles didn’t even bother arguing. He just nodded. “Okay.”
