SERAPHINA
Chapter 151 Drowned in Desire
What just happened?
The river swallowed us whole in a blink as cold water surged over my skin, but I barely felt it. Not when his arms were still locked around me, not when his body shielded mine as we plunged deeper. My eyes opened to the blur of bubbles rising around us, light from the surface breaking through in fractured beams.
That was when I saw him.
Ronan’s face was so close to mine, his dark gaze burning even through the water. The world slowed, muted, leaving only the two of us suspended in the current. His steady hold on me never faltered, as if the river itself could not tear me away from him.
A part of me screamed to fight, to break free. But the spell of his ps hovering close to mine…it cracked me wide open. It was not until the heat of his hard chest pressed into mine, even against the cold water and it knocked me back into my senses.
My pulse thundered louder than the rushing current.
No.
The spell shattered in an instant. I shoved against his chest, breaking free of his grasp, the ache of the lost warmth hitting me sharper than the chill of the water. My body surged upward, muscles burning as I fought for the surface.
I broke through the surface with a gasp, dragging air into my burning lungs. My arms desperately thrashed against the current until I found the muddy bank and pulled myself out, sitting onto the damp grass.
Water streamed from my hair, running down my face as I coughed, my chest heaving with each desperate breath.
After a couple of seconds when I could finally breathe, I realized that my perfume was gone. My long hair was visible and my scent was no longer hidden. My eyes darted around and lips parted while behind me the water ripped again.
Ronan emerged slowly, rising from the river with deliberate ease. Looking wild and untouchable. His soaked shirt clung to every line of his chest and shoulders, the fabric nearly transparent under the moonlight. Droplets slid

down the strong cut of his jaw, dripping from the ends of his dark hair. Though his eyes…they were solely fixed on me.
My heart raced in my chest the closer he came. Ten days–ten days of effort spent avoiding him, of forcing distance between us, turned to ash in a heartbeat. I had not expected that he would do something this crazy.
“Have you lost your mind?!” I growled, only to gasp when his hand fisted in my hair, yanking me forward and crushing his lips to mine.
I froze instantly. My eyes flew wide, breath snagging in my throat. What did he just-
Shock jolted through me, but the taste of him, the raw heat of his mouth, scattered my thoughts into chaos. The world blurred around me, my mind blanked at his wildness as his mouth claimed me like I belonged to him. Heat surged through me, burning away the cold river clinging to my skin. My limbs grew heavy and I was about to close my eyes when I remembered I could not let this happen again.
My hand flew up and I shoved hard at his chest, nails digging into the soaked fabric of his shirt. He barely moved but I could break our lips apart, “What are you…”
He did not give me a second before he dragged me back in, his mouth crushing mine with a hunger that stole every protest from my lips. His kiss was wild, consuming like a battle I was already losing. I twisted in his hold, but my body betrayed me. Tremors rippled down my spine, my pulse hammering out of control as heat curled deep inside me, shameful and sharp.
Phina completely lost herself in the seduction of his wolf. While my hand that was pushing his chest grew weaker. He grabbed both of them, leaned down and pinned me down to the ground without breaking the kiss. The moment I was under him, his kiss grew hotter, wilder, and deeper.
My heart rate grew even wilder. If it continued I was going to lose this battle with myself. So I wriggled under him only to have him pressing all of his weight on me. When it happened I could feel every one of his angles just as he could my curves. I bit his tongue hard but instead of pulling away he met my gaze once and kissed me even harder.
It wasn’t gentle; it was a storm, relentless, demanding. His mouth moved over mine like he was punishing me but in his own way where I was diving into a forbidden pleasure, like he had waited too long, like my protests only fed the fire in him.

I gasped against him, but he swallowed the sound, his tongue sliding past my lips before I could deny him, beforeuld think. He devoured me whole, stealing every breath I had left.

My knees weakened, heat curling traitorously low in my stomach. All of my strength drained away and when he broke the kiss at last, I was left breathless.
My cheeks were flushed red, lips tingling, and lungs clawing for air.
“This…” his lips brushed slightly over my lower lip as he whispered, “this is how I felt when you ran away, ignored me, and left me alone.”
I lay under him gasping and shaken by his wildness but my wolf was floored with what just happened.
If it was another man…I would have long ago made a hole in his heart before he could have pulled me into a kiss. If it was someone else this would not have come to this point…but when it came to him…….my wolf…. What was this feeling? It was scary.
“Let me go, Ronan,” I whispered in a shaky breath reading the obsession in his eyes. The memory of losing everyone I loved dominated in my mind.
“Never,” he murmured, lifting his weight up from me enough to sift to the side and then pulled me into his lap. “Not when your heart beats like this for me,” he brushed his nose along my breasts.
I gasped at how my body reacted to him. No. My heart threatened to burst and my wolf nearly lost it.
“It’s nothing!” I tried to pull away but he pulled me back, my breast flushing against him.
“You can’t run now.”
“Stop this craziness, Ronan!” I yelled, battling with my heart and emotions stirred by him.
“Craziness, you say?” he brushed his lips seductively against mine, causing my lips to slowly shutter close, “The craziness stirred by your kiss is not going to stop until one of us disappears, Seraphina.”
