Chapter 185 More Than Flesh
SERAPHINA
Before I realized it became impossible to tear our lips apart. Ronan’s hands gripped my waist, lifting me effortlessly into his arms. My gasp was swallowed as his mouth claimed mine, hot and demanding. He carried me across the room and laid me on the bed, his body hovering above mine, the mattress dipping under his weight. His kiss deepened, fierce and consuming, as if he wanted to brand me with every stroke of his tongue. My fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, desperate for more. His growl vibrated against my lips, primal and intoxicating, and in that moment, I belonged entirely to him.
“Fuck, I don’t have any more condoms,” he groaned, his boner pressing against my belly.
I opened my eyes and breathlessly laughed, “You used all of them?”
He lay on my side and pulled me to his chest, “Yeah, though I should have ordered a new box last night instead of in the morning. It would have arrived by now.”
I laughed even more at seeing the frustration in his eyes as he adjusted his cock. He narrowed his eyes and nipped my cheek, “You laugh, huh? Your mate is in pain and you are laughing? Shouldn’t you throw yourself down and serve me?”
I giggled even harder at his noise as his lips tangled with mine. He teased me here and there until I was a hot mess from laughing so hard. “Okay, I will not laugh, sorry,” only when I promised did he stop.
I lay in his arms, breathless, feeling the steady rhythm of his chest against mine. His body was still tense, his arousal pressed against my stomach, and guilt stirred inside me.
“Do… Do you need help?” I asked softly, my cheeks burning.
The corner of Ronan’s lips lifted in quiet amusement. “And how would you help me?”
I hesitated, biting my lower lip, unsure if I should even say it. I knew there were ways to ease a man’s tension besides… sex.
Before I could find the courage to respond, he pinched my nose playfully. “Don’t think too wild. I’ll take care of myself.”
My face heated instantly. It was as if he had read my mind.
He hugged me closer, murmuring lazily against my hair, “A cold shower would help–but I’m too tired to move. I’ll just sleep. It’ll pass.”
I blinked at him. Somehow, that answer made my heart twist. Men usually wanted more… didn’t they? So why didn’t he? He never never hinted, never even asked.
I pouted, frowning up at him. “Hey… do you think I *can’t* do it?”
He opened his eyes, confused. “Do what?”
I faltered, words knotting on my tongue. “You know… those things.”
“What things?” he teased, tilting his head until our eyes met.
I looked away, my face burning. “You know… that thing… taking the man’s…in the mouth…. And with hands….” My voice faded, and I hid my face in his chest before I could finish.
Ronan’s deep laugh vibrated against my cheek. His arm tightened around me. “You little wolf,” he whispered, brushing my hair back. “If you can’t even say it out loud, how are you going to do it?”
I bit his chest lightly to shut his laughter. He hissed and ruffled my hair.

He chuckled again, softer this time. “Listen to me,” he said, his tone shifting, his fingers lifting my chin this touch was gentle, but his gaze held something fierce. “I’ll never ask you to do anything you’re not ready for Ever”
My breath caught as his lips brushed mine–not a kiss, just a promise. “When you’re ready, I’ll be ready too.”
Something in my chest tightened. No man had ever said something like that to me. No one had ever respected the boundaries of my heart.
Sparks danced through me, warm and alive. My voice came out barely a whisper. “How much do you love me?”
Ronan’s lips hovered over mine. “So much,” he said quietly, “that I can’t explain it in words.”
I hesitated, then asked, “What if I don’t give you my body anymore–just my kisses? Would you still love me?”
Our eyes locked. The silence stretched, heavy and breathless.
Then his wolf glimmered in his gaze, deep and honest. “I’d love you even if neither of us had breath left in our bodies,” he said. “Whether you give me your body or not doesn’t matter. As long as you’re mine, as long as you love me–that’s all I need. Sex is just a physical thing, but you…” His voice dropped, tender and rough all at once. “You’re my soul.”
I blinked fast, my throat tight.
He smiled faintly. “If you don’t want to, then we won’t. We’ll just hold hands, fall asleep, and wake up together. That’s enough for me.”
My heart stumbled. Then I smiled, pressing my lips softly against his. “You say things that make it *impossible* not to want you.”
He chuckled against my mouth. “Is that so?”
“Mm–hmm.”
We lay there, facing each other, whispering about nothing and everything–until words faded and silence spoke louder. His eyes stayed on mine, and in that quiet, I realized something simple yet infinite.
I didn’t just want him.
I belonged to him.
“What are you looking at?” he asked as we lay staring into each other’s eyes.
“Your eyes, they are beautiful,” I whispered. He smiled happily then I added, “and….mysterious just like you,” I murmured
“Mysterous?”
“Yes, you know about my identity, my background but I don’t know anything about you other than your name.” He smiled and took my hand into his, “What do you want to know about me? I will tell you everything.”
I pursed my lips and questioned, “Who do you mind–link? You can even get condoms easily from the outside.” He replied without blinking, “I mind–link my Beta, Mace. He has some skills so I can have him deliver whatever I want to the Academy without him being discovered.”
I blinked. To a male Alpha of his age and heir of his bloodline it was normal for him to have a Beta without

being the official leader of his pack but…“You mind–link him anytime? Does that mean he is outside the academy territory all the time?” That sounded absurd, I knew. But a mind–link could work only from a few KM away. So unless his Beta was right outside the territory, he would not have received the mind–link.
“He is not there all the time. We have set a time so I know when he will be there,” he explained.
“I see,” I nodded slowly.
Only if I could mind–link Lily that way but my father might be keeping an eye on everyone that was in contact with me. She might be in a very tight spot.
