Chapter 186 The Alpha King’s Runaway Bride

The next morning when I woke up, Ronan was once again not in the bed beside me. I glanced at the clock that stated 4:45 AM. It was time to take a shower for me before everyone usually woke up but why was Ronan not there? He slept next to me but he was not there when I woke up. It was as if he did not sleep or simply in the middle of the night he would just go somewhere.

“But where?” Phina asked.

Curious about the same thing, I headed for the shower and realized that I should have asked him about it last night when we were talking. Every time he was missing like this I felt a strange uneasiness. So far I stopped myself from asking because I did not want to sound too intimate with him, but now that we were soulmates and officially together even though it was a secret that could not come out at the Academy, I wanted to know where he disappeared to.

Later, the training bell did not ring again. It turned out that some Alphas were still injured so we were given the day off. When the bell rang for breakfast I met Asher in the hallway.

“Goodmorning,” I smiled.

He smiled back, “Good morning, are you going to breakfast?”

“Yes, what about you?” I questioned, noticing he was definitely nodding while heading for the cafeteria.

“I am going to meet Alpha Jude.”

I blinked, “Is everything alright?”

He nodded with a small smile, “Actually I am going to deliver a message from Grace to him. Due to Alpha Jude’s busy schedule he does not seem to be going back to his pack for two days and Grace is impatiently waiting for him. I thought I should help the two lovers get their happy time together with their new happiness.”

I got curious, “New happiness?”

“Grace is expecting,” Asher revealed.

My eyes widened and I put my hand over my mouth in happiness, “Really?!”

He nodded as I could not hold my smile and hardly held my excitement. “I am so happy for her and Alpha Jude.”

“Me too, but it is a secret between us,” he started as we resumed our walk. “She wants to tell Alpha Jude herself.”

“Of course!” I exclaimed. It was their special moment and I would definitely want them to preserve it.

We continued walking as he told me that Grace called the Academy to ask him about Alpha Jude and that’s how he found out about her pregnancy. I listened to him but as we were going to part ways, I asked, “Asher, can I ask you something about Ronan?”

He paused and slowly turned to me. “What about him?”

Since they two were best friends and knew each other for years, I wanted to ask him if the rumors about Ronan killing his mother were true. Asking Ronan directly could hurt him since it was related to his mother. But suddenly the fear of hearing something that would shake me dominated my heart. “It’s nothing,” I shook my head and then entered the cafeteria.

Asher watched my vanishing back with his hands in his pocket and murmured, “Will you able to handle it if you figure out the answer?”

I entered the cafeteria that was not that crowded. Rumors said that now there were only twenty two Alphas left at the Academy and Alphas came to eat whenever they wished in the given time. As soon as I picked my breakfast plate and looked around to decide where I should sit, I found Finn sitting there.

Our eyes instantly locked since he was already looking at me.

His hands were inside his pockets as he was leaning back to his chair and his food was untouched.

The memory of him calling me by my real name flashed in my mind. Panic flooded inside me and my legs rooted to the spot. So far no one knew about my secret. That meant he had not told anyone like Asher. But we had been friends with each other for three months now. He must feel betrayed. I never thought I would have to face this day. I just felt guilty deep in my heart.

“Are you not going to join me?” Finn stated.

I was taken aback for a moment. I kept looking at him for a longer moment before I walked over and sat across him. Finn started eating and after a couple of seconds I started eating as well. The silence between us was so awkward that I could hardly taste the food in my mouth.

I finally put my spoon back and decided to break this awkwardness, “Finn…”

“You don’t need to clarify anything,” he softly cut me off, his eyes never tearing away from the food.

“I did not mean to hide. I just can not…”

“Seraphina,” he called me by my name again and it had me hold my breath when he lifted his eyes

and met with mine, “what if am not what you think” he suddenly stated.

“What do you mean?” I blinked. “You are Finn. Alpha Finn Hart, my first friend at this Academy.”

I failed to notice how his eyes slightly changed behind his calm expression over me calling him a friend. “Yes, I am Finn. Alpha Finn Hart,” he murmured, “But I am not what you think.”

I chuckled and picked up my spoon, “Alright, whoever you are, you will always be my friend, Finn. Kind and gentle. Someone who always brings positivity in me with his smile. I don’t care about anything else.”

I resumed eating, unaware of the way his eyes went from my face to my neck that disappeared inside the collar. The love bites hidden inside.

I spent my entire day in the room and only left to have my lunch and then for dinner. Ronan had yet to return. I ate my dinner slowly.

It was only the second day of our time off and I was bored. Probably because I had the habit of training and fighting. But as far as I could see every Alpha was fit and fine. So I wonder why we were given a day off today.

“Probably, the Academy is preparing for another trial for us,” Phina pointed out.

I agreed with her. Now there were only twenty two Alphas left and I could sense that another task would wipe out half of us then we would be a few steps away from the Supreme Alpha throne. A thrill and excitement ran in my veins. Yes, that day was approaching.

Once I claimed the throne I would not have not to hide. I would be free from the arranged marriage with the Alpha King and my father would not be able to control my life. Thinking about it, I continued eating my dinner in a good mood when my eyes went to Cassius in the last row of the cafeteria only to find he was looking at me. Surprisingly, he had also made it back from the Ghost Forest. I didn’t understand what the hell his deal was?

I stared back at him coldly and then stood up to leave the cafeteria. His face alone was enough to ruin my mood. However as soon as I exited, I encountered Mr. Willian, the dormitory assistant. “Alpha Seth, you got a call,” he informed.

“A call?” I cocked my brows.

He nodded, “Please go to my office,” saying that he walked past me.

“Could it be Lily?” Phina explained inside me. I had called her that day due to my sudden heat. so it had to be her!
