A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 164

"Yeah, I'll do my best."

Winona couldn't help but laugh out loud, picturing how serious Elvis must look on the other side of the screen. For the first time, she found herself genuinely looking forward to the trip ahead.

At the hospital, the doctor broke the news to Tyson with a look of deep regret: Celia had lost the baby.

"I warned you again and again—she absolutely couldn't afford any emotional shock. She needed to rest and be taken care of. How could this have happened?" The doctor's eyes held a trace of reproach, but seeing Tyson's devastated expression, she chose not to push further.

Tyson's face was ashen. He'd been so sure he was about to become a father. Now, that hope was gone.

"There's something else," the doctor continued gently. "Celia had difficulty conceiving to begin with. This miscarriage has done more damage—she may never be able to get pregnant again."

With a sigh, the doctor glanced sympathetically toward Celia, who had just been wheeled out of surgery, still unconscious.

Tyson slammed his fist against the wall, his guilt threatening to drown him. This was all his fault. He never should have lost his temper and yelled at Celia just because he was upset. That must have terrified her.

No—wait. The real reason Celia had been so frightened wasn't him. It was that stupid prank someone played, sending her that horrific picture. She'd only miscarried after seeing it. Whoever sent that message was the one truly responsible for the loss of their child.

Once Celia was settled into a hospital room, Tyson snatched up her phone, determined to discover who had sent that cursed image. But her phone was locked, and every password he tried was wrong.

Just then, Celia's eyes fluttered open. She was weak, but when she saw Tyson with her phone, panic flashed across her face. She reached out, her voice trembling, "Ty, what are you doing with my phone? Give it back…"
