Back at the villa, Elvis warmed a glass of milk for Winona before stepping over to the living room window to make a call.

Winona cradled the mug in her hands, watching his silhouette by the window.

The man was born to wear clothes—or maybe, more accurately, to make them look better. Even now, dressed simply in a shirt and slacks, talking quietly on the phone, he exuded the effortless presence of an international model.

For some reason, Winona suddenly thought of a famous male model known for his physique. But compared to Elvis, even that man seemed to fall a little short.

When Elvis finished his call and turned around, he caught Winona staring openly at him, so distracted that she'd forgotten all about her milk.

"What's on your mind?" He walked over, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "Why are you daydreaming while looking at me?"

"Huh?" Winona snapped back to reality, quickly ducking her head to take a sip of milk and cover her embarrassment.

After a few gulps, she finally spoke. "It's nothing. I was just thinking about those men tonight. They seemed... off."

"Don't worry about it." Elvis gave her a gentle pat on the head. "I'll have someone take care of it."

He knew she could keep her cool in a crisis, but he didn't want her to waste energy on that kind of trouble. Her talents belonged somewhere bigger, somewhere brighter—not battling rats in the shadows.

"About tomorrow night's gala—which dress are you planning to wear? I brought out a few sets of jewelry for you. Want to try them on?"

The gala was being hosted by the organizers, and Winona had packed several evening dresses, but she still hadn't decided which one to wear.

As Elvis spoke, Winona found herself distracted, staring at his lips rather than listening to his words.

He caught her drifting off again, and raised an eyebrow. "Winona?"

"Yeah?"
