A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 185

Winona couldn't help but feel her heart melt as she met that earnest gaze of his.

She didn't say another word—just let him hold her quietly, wrapped in his warmth, listening to the steady beat of his heart.

In the dead of night, a group of men—faces bruised and battered—slipped through a hotel's back entrance. They didn't dare take the elevator, instead gritting their teeth and hauling themselves up seventeen flights of stairs to a certain door.

Their eyes met in silent communication before one of them finally raised his hand and knocked.

"Come in."

Inside, luxury greeted them at every turn. A young man in a white robe lounged on the sofa, swirling a glass of red wine in his hand, his gaze fixed on the giant screen in front of him, where a video played.

Behind him, a stunning blonde with striking blue eyes massaged his shoulders.

"Mr. Wells."

The men shuffled forward, all nerves and uncertainty.

Eamon's brow furrowed sharply. "Move! You're blocking the screen."

"Sorry, sir." They quickly stepped aside.

On the screen, a woman was strolling along the beach, her face radiant with laughter.

"Ethan, I'm happiest when I'm with you."

Eamon's features softened, a dreamy look flickering across his face.

"Celia…"

The men stood in awkward silence, afraid to interrupt.

Only when the video ended did Eamon set down his wine, tapping his fingers twice against the edge of the sofa.

"Well? Speak."
