A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 200

If it weren't for his love for Celia, he never would have dared to go through with any of this.

Elvis's polished shoes pressed into the thick carpet as he strode over to Eamon, who was curled up on the floor. Elvis looked down at him, his gaze as cold and indifferent as if he were examining a worthless piece of trash.

Eamon gritted his teeth against the pain and forced himself to speak, his voice trembling. "Mr. Rogers, I don't know what I've done to offend you, to make you so furious with me in a foreign country…"

"You don't know?"

Elvis shifted his shoe from the carpet to Eamon's head, pressing just hard enough to make his point without causing real injury.

Eamon's face twisted in fear and humiliation.

He knew the things he'd done—even if they'd failed—had already come to light. Otherwise, Elvis wouldn't be here confronting him. But admitting it? He wouldn't dare.

"Mr. Rogers, this must be some sort of misunderstanding between us…"

"A misunderstanding?" Elvis kept his shoe on Eamon's head, his voice icy. "Tell me, what kind of misunderstanding?"

"I…"

Eamon tried to defend himself, but the words caught in his throat. He simply couldn't find an excuse.

"Can't say, can you?"

Elvis glanced at Lorenzo.

Lorenzo spoke up immediately, his face expressionless. "You sent those men to harass Miss Thorne at the bar. The suspicious waiters at the banquet last night? Also your doing. Your plan was to lure Miss Thorne to the restroom, where you'd planted more of your people in advance."

Eamon couldn't say a word. Frustration and regret twisted in his gut.

He'd spent so much time and money sneaking those people into the hotel—thanks only to a manager he happened to know. And in the end, they'd botched everything.

He hadn't even had time to run before these bodyguards caught him and cornered him here.
