A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 207

Tyson had no idea that his brief conversation with Jackson had been witnessed by Winona, who hadn’t left the conference hall yet either.

A slight furrow appeared between Winona’s brows.

Why would Tyson approach Jackson? Did he already know about the long-standing feud between the Rogers and Quincy families, and was he hoping to form an alliance with the Quincys?

Judging by Jackson’s face, though, he seemed less than interested in talking to Tyson.

But hadn’t Jackson just mentioned something about “my brother” a moment ago? Winona was too far away to catch the details, but she was sure she’d heard it.

What kind of connection could there be between Tyson and Jude?

Winona’s gaze darkened with suspicion.

When she arrived back at the estate, she immediately noticed several men lingering by the front door, a few cars idling at the curb.

They were Jude’s people—his personal security, no doubt—who’d been tipped off and had come to collect him.

Winona had already done more than enough by saving Jude’s life. She had no plans to keep looking after him under her own roof, so she’d had someone inform his men to pick him up.

Now, they were preparing to go inside and carry Jude out.

“Wait a minute,” Winona said, stopping them. “I need to have a word with Mr. Quincy first.”

The men knew she was the one who’d saved Jude, so they didn’t object.

Elvis, who had returned with Winona, didn’t question her either. He just nodded and said, “Call me if you need anything.”

Winona smiled. “Thanks, I will.”

With that, she headed into the house, making her way to the guest room where Jude was still recovering.

Jude was barely able to move yet, so he remained flat on his back in bed.

The man who’d been standing guard at his bedside was still there, but when Winona entered, he silently stepped aside to give her space.

Jude’s eyes were closed, but at the sound of footsteps, he slowly opened them.
