Looking back now… Even though she hadn’t seen clearly whether the bald man had a scar behind his right ear, there was a good chance he was the one who went to find Yvonne.
“Was that five hundred thousand wired to your account, too?” Elvis asked.
“No. The bald guy set up a new account for it—I don’t know if he used a fake ID or something. He gave me the account number and password, told me not to withdraw too much at once. After I got to Europe, I slowly converted the money into local currency. I haven’t touched that account in over a year,” Yvonne answered, telling him everything.
“Do you still remember the account details?”
Yvonne thought for a moment. “Most of it, yes.”
How could she forget? There was half a million in that account—and it was money paid for with someone else’s blood. The details were burned into her memory, even after so long.
“Write it down.”
There was paper and a pen in the room. Yvonne obediently wrote down everything she could recall about the account and handed the note to Elvis.
He glanced over it and tucked the paper away.
Winona had been silent the whole time, lost in thought.
Yvonne shifted uneasily in her chair, keeping her head down. “I—I’ve told you everything I know,” she said cautiously. “Is there anything else you need me to do?”
“Testify in court,” Winona replied, her voice calm and to the point.
Yvonne’s face went pale. “You want me to testify? But I…”
“You’re Brandon’s wife. He told you himself that he was bribed to cause that accident. Your testimony carries weight,” Winona said.
