Suddenly, Celia understood. She let out a cold laugh. "What, not as good as Winona's coffee, is that it?"

If it was just about the taste, he could have said so directly—why all this hesitation?

Tyson didn't answer her question. Instead, he just sighed quietly.

Celia forced herself to keep her temper in check. "Ty, before you went off to college, I used to make coffee for you at home all the time. Back then, you always said it was your favorite, that you loved the way I made it. Now suddenly it's not good enough?"

"Celia, that's not what I meant."

"Then what do you mean? You used to say Winona's coffee couldn't hold a candle to mine! Now that she's gone, you suddenly miss her? And Ty, don't forget—the only reason you confessed to her in the first place was because we had a fight!"

Tyson fell silent, his expression stiff.

Celia caught the flicker of guilt in his eyes.

Her face went pale. She strode over, grabbed his arm, and stared him down.

"What—am I wrong? Did you really like Winona back then, is that why you chased after her? Wasn't it just to get back at me?"

"Celia!" Tyson's voice was clipped. "That was years ago. Why are you still hung up on this? What's the point?"

"But—"

"Haven't I done enough for you?" Tyson looked at her, wounded. "I married you to help you get away from your abusive ex. I tried everything to give you the family you always wanted. For you, I proposed to Nona, went through all that trouble to get a fake marriage certificate, just to make your dream of having a child come true. Celia, if you didn't mean the world to me, do you really think I'd have done all that?"

Celia's anger deflated in an instant.

It would be heartless to deny how much Tyson had done for her.

But she still couldn't stand that he seemed to hold on to memories of Winona.
