A potion was thrown into a burning flame and the golden-red like fire was immediately turned into blue flames, igniting multiple screams of excitement from the people around. Everyone merried and danced with joy at this change.
It’s that time again, the time of hallow, where everyone gathered in small groups in their different special attires or custumes in celebration of the sleeping prince who would one day emerge as the king of the land. This celebration was in form of a festival.
It was usually annual, as they all hoped and prayed that he wakes up early to save them from attacks of predators from the neighbouring villages.
The predators being rogue warewolves and vampires. The rogues are corrupt warewolves or vampires who no longer have a normal sense anymore and have fully transformed into faceless beasts.
The elite people of the society traveled from all six kingdoms of Rainfields to the castle. The dark enormous building that stood tall and distant from the rest of the village. It’s been decades since they’ve seen light emerge from that building unless the days of hallow where only the elite people are aloud to perform their celebration and ritual in there as they were called the pure’s.
Only the pure’s had such right of performing the hallow effectively.
While the normal people of the kingdom celebrated in small gatherings, most people in their hut alone since they were nothing in the society. Troops of carriages could be seen travelling up the mountain and into the palace in preparation for the coming of the beast.
He has ruled before, he was ruthless, brutal, assertive, heartless...
A cold vampire who derived pleasure in suffering innocent people.
They fought so hard to put him to rest but after seeing what his absence would do to them, they did everything to bring him back in an attempt to tame him in anyway or anyhow they know they could.
A black carriage halted at the entrance of the large dark castle and eight legs stepped out of it. Six to which their heels made clicking sounds on the brick floor and an extra two legs which moved quietly. Their steps where quick, like a Meerkat searching for water in the desert, as they hurried in to join the others.
Different colorful dresses filled the lit hall, the brightest light emerging from the room came from the 14meter crystal chandelier hanging just above everyone. The men were found in their black exquisite suits. They had other colors but decided to use black for this special celebration, they all had to be in their gentlemen’s attire. Beneath each colourful mask on their faces were faces of known lords, noble men, and women in the society.
The wealthiest of vampires and human and few uncertain creatures all gathered there. Most people were there for the connections each gatherings brought and others were there to have fun.
A pair of green eyes swooped among the crowd in her dim twilight fog old looking dress, holding a tray of human drinks in her hands. Her slender figure stood at a corner waiting to be called upon, yet trembled with fear of getting killed by the giant vampires in the building.
It’s her first time serving in a ball like this one, and from what she’s heard, being a serving maid on balls like this was always very risky, especially if the vampires decides to have your blood for the occasion.
It’s her first time here so she had to be cautious not to attract the vampires to herself.
"Lady Katherine it’s so nice to see you here." A blonde-haired lady said to the browned-haired one. "Thank you, lady Esther." Katherine responded with a smile, her red eyes staring calmly at the woman with normal blue eyes.
The woman named Esther went on to say, "It’s wonderful how very supportive you are of your nephew even if you’ve waited for year’s and yet he’s not returned."
Katherine smiled at her words. "I’ve tried my best in convincing them a dead prince is incapable of ruling this kingdom, Jardon on the other hand is still very much alive and the only remaining true blood from our family." Katherine’s words were calm and collected. "Oh my dear Katherine do not worry too much, they’ll all get tired of waiting and will eventually see the light." Esther responded.
"I hope so."
"Have you heard of the recent killings and attacks in the neighboring village?"
"I heard of it, Jadon is working with the assembly to eradicate all threats..." Both women stopped talking once a familiar red eyes passed. The keeper of the kingdom, A.k.a the prince’s right hand man who has been running the affairs of the kingdom for year’s, Jeeves.
"Good evening lady Katherine." Jeeves saluted with a slight bow. The bright red eyes of the half human and vampire stared at the blue eyed woman on the left with a modest yet intriguing appearance. "Good evening Jeeves, it’s been so long since we last communicated. Probably before your master left, how have things been with you?" Katherine asked politely.
