Chapter 73: THE NEW WIFE

"Miss Ariana, are you okay?" The guards rushed into the room. They had all heard Ariana’s screams all through the night but couldn’t help her.

They didn’t help her because they couldn’t go against Abby’s words.

Her instructions were simple. Never let Ariana out no matter what and never leave the door post. They never left the doorpost, and they were so sure no one had stepped in. What they didn’t understand was why their Miss Ariana was screaming like someone was killing her.

"They’re going to kill me. Let me out of here." Ariana rushed towards them. She wanted to leave but the guards didn’t let her. They held her still, the Adkin’s lawyers have to see her in here to believe whatever they would say to them.

"What are you talking about Miss Ariana?" One guard asked.

"Yes, who’s here to kill you?" The others moved around the room while two held Ariana down.

"No, let me through. I can’t stay here anymore. They’ll kill me, they’re crazy people." Ariana cried out still struggling with them.

"Ma’am, no one is killing you. There’s no one in the room with you and it’s morning already." One of the guards said. He walked to the side, drawing the curtains for the morning sun to give the room a little light.

They all couldn’t believe this was the room their master had slept in for years now. It had nothing. This room was way lower than the average maid room in the estate.

The guard standing before the girl panicking like a scared cat, shook her violently.

"Calm down miss Ariana. No one is in here to kill you." He said and Ariana finally opened her eyes, panting violently as she cried.

Was it a dream?

It was morning already?

She looked around, checking her hands and her body. There were no chains bound to her hands, nothing.

She had survived through the night. This meant she was officially Osvaldo’s new wife. But Ariana didn’t feel happy about this.

What she experienced last night wasn’t something she wanted to experience again. "But..." She looked around.

The madman and Penny were here moments ago with blood dripping from them. They even gave her a bitter apple to eat. They threatened to kill her.

The madman was with a knife. A knife dripping with blood.

Ariana touched her body again, she smacked her tongue to feel the bitter taste of the apple but there was nothing.

"I’m alive," Ariana said and the guards all nodded in agreement. Finally, she was picking up.
