After knowing Who She Is They Kneeled novel Chapter 78

Chapter 78

After she finished writing, she picked up the wooden box and walked out the door.

Her handwriting was awful, but she didn’t care if he could read it or not.

Annelise was all about keeping up appearances.

This young master of the Winthrop family… giving her a gift, it was as if he’d figured her out.

Annelise thought she should avoid this guy from now on. Still, the fountain pen was nice, even diamond-studded.

So this is what it means to be cultured-all about the money!

Adrian had no idea his actions had backfired.

Annelise had just left when he arrived. He’d been watching the surveillance footage all afternoon, a hint of weariness on his handsome face.

“Sir.”

The bodyguard in black approached. “Miss Annelise didn’t take anything else, just the Etherhart Herb.”

Miss Annelise?

Adrian raised an eyebrow. The name reminded him of a poem. So, her name was Annelise.

Adrian walked into the study, took off his rosary beads, and his eyes swept over the items left on the table. “Did she drink the tea?” he asked softly.

The bodyguard was startled. “Sir, we haven’t had a chance to replace these yet. I’ll get rid of them right now!”

Everyone knew their young master hated it when anyone touched his tea set.

Even that other Miss Caldwell from Brookford had only touched his coaster.

And the young master had ordered them to replace everything.

After that lesson, they never made the same mistake again.

But this time, the bodyguard never imagined someone would have the nerve to use the young master’s teacup and eat his afternoon tea.

This Miss Annelise from Criford just didn’t play by the rules!

Adrian had already picked up the gold-leafed paper. “Don’t bother. Leave it. The tea was just made; it’d be a shame to waste it.”

The bodyguard froze. Don’t bother?

He wondered if he’d heard him right.

“That plate of honey sponge cake… it looks like Miss Annelise touched it, too. Should I still have the pastry chef make another…?”

“No need.”

Adrian picked up a financial report from the side, his expression casual. “She didn’t touch the other side.”

The bodyguard wanted to scratch his head. He couldn’t tell if his young master was angry or not. How could she be so disrespectful?

As if reading his mind, Adrian’s gaze turned cold. “Belen Carter, remember, she is my guest.”

The bodyguard’s heart trembled. “Yes, sir!”

Adrian looked away, his voice lazy. “Throw out that Mind-altering Incense.”

Doyle walked in just in time to hear that.

“Sir, you can’t throw that away.”

Doyle blocked Belen’s hand. “The young lady went to great lengths to get this for you. It’s a rare Mind-altering In-

cense.”

Adrian glanced at him and flicked the paper over. “See for yourself.”

“Prolonged exposure to the Mind-altering Incense is harmful?”

Doyle frowned, squinting at the note. “This handwriting is a total mess.”

Adrian took a sip of tea. After he drank, he seemed to remember something. His fingers paused as he looked at the teacup. “She wrote it.”

Doyle, of course, knew who “she” was. His voice jumped. “The Miracle Doctor said this?

Then we have to believe it!
