“I’m not messing around,” Tommy said, with a straight face. “I saw it myself.”

Gregory pushed, “When did you see it?”

Tommy went completely silent.

Barry urged, “Seriously, just say it!”

Tommy furrowed his brow, looking extra serious. “Mr. Hanson told me I’m not allowed to tell you guys.”

Gregory was at a loss for words.

Barry was too.

Sometimes being tight–lipped is a good thing, but if you take it too far, it just means you can’t even bend a little when you should.

Gregory said smoothly, picking up on the situation, “Why don’t you tell Ms. Jensen instead? Mr. Hanson listens to her. As his bodyguard, you should listen too.”

Tommy pondered it for a few seconds, then agreed quickly, not missing a beat.

Tommy wanted to say, ‘Even if it’s for Mr. Hanson, you can’t just go leaking secrets like that! But then he thought, ‘Rebecca isn’t like everyone else–so never mind. He swallowed the words and kept his mouth shut.

“Seems like Jeffrey’s been throwing up pretty much every time he eats lately,” Dr. Johnson concluded. “Otherwise, there’s no way his test results would look like this.”

“Any idea what’s causing it?” Barry asked, clearly worried. “Is there any way to figure it out?”

Dr. Johnson answered, “If it’s not some physical issue with his head or stomach, maybe it’s stress, or just psychological. Only Jeffrey himself knows for sure.”

Gregory shot Rebecca a quick side–eye without thinking.

He was starting to put two and two together.

“His stomach’s still fine, so we’re not at the danger zone yet,” Dr. Johnson added, genuinely worried about Jeffrey. “Just make sure someone keeps an eye on his meals every day so this doesn’t happen again, and he should start getting better bit by bit.”

“Got it,” Gregory replied.

Honestly, as Jeffrey’s assistant, Gregory felt like he’d really dropped the ball on this one.

He couldn’t believe he was only finding out about something this serious just now.

“If you guys have things to talk about, do it outside. Jeffrey’s been under way too much strain–physically and mentally—and he really needs to rest right now,” Dr. Johnson reminded them, thinking back on what he’d overheard earlier. “Let’s save everything else for when he wakes up.”

“Got it,” Barry replied.

“Got it,” Tommy echoed.

Dr. Johnson nodded and then turned to Rebecca. “You’re free to make arrangements however you want.”

“Dr. Johnson,” Gregory called out.

Dr. Johnson turned to look at him.

Gregory paused for a second, thinking about why Rebecca had come all the way to Jelasburg today. After weighing it over, he finally asked, “How soon do you think Mr. Hanson will wake up?”
