Chapter 76
Rania almost forgot how much she loved children. She always wanted sibling, a younger one to be precise, because she thought it would be great to have someone, who you could share everything with.
However, when Killian and Claire came to live with her, as her father mated with their mother, it didn’t turn out the way Rania wanted.
Claire was always very distance. She wouldn’t want to do anything with her. She was not malicious, but she didn’t want Rania around, and always shooed her away from her room.
Meanwhile, Killian once she turned fifteen, he always looked at her weirdly, touched her inappropriately, and this made her uncomfortable.
At that time, Rania didn’t know what that meant, and tried to not say anything, but as time went by, she knew it was not right and started to stand up for herself.
That was when everything went down the hill. All the false accusation, Killian’s attempt to force himself on her, and the downfall of her relationship with her father because he took his mate’s side, and told Rania not to create trouble.
Rania had never felt so alone at that time.
Therefore, having Claire and Killian around her for years made her forget her feeling of her desired to have sibling.
Yet, when she came to the orphanage, that feeling resurfaced again, especially when she saw the siblings, who lost both of their parents during the war.
The brother was only ten, while his sisters were seven and five. They looked adorable, and the brothers were very protective of his siblings. He put himself in front of his sisters when Rania approached them, while his sisters hid behind him.
“What’s your name?” Rania asked. She separated herself from the king’s entourage, because there were so many people there, and because their presence was very strong, the children tended to get scared, and hid away from them.
Rania didn’t want that kind of interaction. She then spotted these siblings, and asked the lady, who was the guardian in this orphanage, she then explained that they were siblings, and just lost his father two years ago, while their mother lost her life during the childbirth of the last child.
“Lyle,” the boy replied, his eyes were alerted, but he introduced his sister when the lady guardian nodded in encouragement. “This is Sissy and Emma.”
“They are beautiful,” Rania said. “What are you playing? Do you mind if I play with you?”
The children were playing with a ball, where they hit the other person with it, and the one, who was being hit had to chase the other player.
Rania played this game before when she was a child, and as childish as it sounded, she was genuine when she asked them to allow her to play.
Aside from Lyle and her sister, there were around ten other children who were playing.
“Do you want to play?” The other children approached her. “But, you can’t shift into your beast.”
“Of course, I will not,” Rania promised, it was not like she could shift into her beast, though, but they didn’t
need to know that.
The other children discussed among themselves whether or not to let her play. They did fear her, which was a great thing, since they couldn’t sense her dominance. It happened because Rania didn’t have a wolf spirit to begin with.
“Okay, you can play. I will explain the rule,” one of the boys said, he then explained the rule that Rania already knew, but she listened to him anyway. “You will be the chaser, here the ball.”
