Darrell didn’t deny it. He only said, “Lucy’s friends are my friends.”
“I thank you for the offer, but I won’t insult you by having you pay for my bill tonight,” Valerie said. “The more favors I owe, the more difficult it is to repay them all.”
“Lucy will repay all favors owed,” Darrell replied.
Valerie smiled but said nothing more.
At the side, Lucius happened to notice the two conversing. Though he couldn’t identify what exactly they were talking about, he still felt irritated seeing how close Valerie and Darrell were.
Sonia’s several attempts to chat up Lucius were continuously ignored. She was feeling terrible right now, growing angrier by the second.
Now that her parents‘ scandal had been publicized, her perfect reputation was utterly ruined. Even now, she failed to understand why the video she’d intended to upload had disappeared. Why had the Woodward family’s scandal been publicized in such an outrageous manner instead?
The auction began while Sonia continued going around in circles in her mind.
The first item was a beautiful oil painting from a famous artist. Its starting bid was 300

Lucius stiffened immediately.
Luckily, no one else had overheard her words. To them, Lucius and Valerie were just having a normal conversation.
