The auction continued soon, and an amber–studded gold headdress caught Valerie’s eye.
An intricate pattern was carved into the gold headdress. It was designed for men, and there was even an eye–catching gemstone inlaid at the top. It was a luxurious yet elegant piece of jewelry that was sure to make any man look good.
It had a starting bid of 30 thousand dollars, with each consequent bid at a minimum of 50 thousand dollars.
Valerie slowly pressed the button before her, indicating that she’d set her eyes on this prize.
Lucius gazed thoughtfully at the headdress, too, wondering what Valerie would do with a man’s headdress. Did she really have a man on the side?
Jealous, Lucius also pressed his own button. He wasn’t going to let Valerie get her way and win this headdress.
His behavior was rewarded with a strange look from Valerie. “Are you bidding against me?”
Lucius smiled graciously. “It’s a beautiful headdress. I like it a lot.”
Who knew if Valerie was going to give the headdress to some man she’d been sleeping with as a gift? Regardless, Lucius was going to stop her plan before it even began.
Valerie rolled her eyes at him. “It’s not like you’ll wear it.”
“And why would you wear a headdress designed for men?”
“It’s going to be a gift for someone.”
“Well, I’m going to keep it in my collection.”
As Valerie and Lucius bid against each other for the headdress, it soon reached a high bid of 1.S million dollars.
Valerie was no match for Lucius when it came to financial power. Plus, meaningless bidding would only make the situation more incredulous.
It was Darrell who won the headdress after Valerie and Lucius‘ quiet bidding war.
The reason behind it was a little funny–Lucius had stopped raising his bids when Valeria stopped pressing her button. So, Darrell had taken advantage of this window to win the amber headdress with a bid of 1.85 million dollars.
“This headdress is yours. I’ll pay for it, though,” Darrell then said to Valerie with a smile, all while Lucius watched on with a stormy expression.

Valerie could only accept Darrell’s offer, having not expected such an outcome in the first
place.
The next few items put up for bidding were lavish sets of jewelry. Lucius didn’t so much as bat an eye as he bid for 12 full sets of jewelry.
Seeing that, Sonia grew excited. Was Lucius going to give her all these jewelry sets as presents?
However, Lucius turned and asked Valerie in a low voice, “You love jewelry, don’t you? I’ll give you these 12 jewelry sets as gifts.”
Valerie immediately snapped out of her drowsiness again. “All of them?”
“Do you like them?” Lucius asked
“Can I take them with me after we divorce?”
Valerie always loved disrupting the mood.
