Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO novel Chapter 727

Chapter 727: Abandoned her to accept her fate.

Although Aiden paused at his words, he didn’t look as though he was considering.

Caden grew anxious. He quickly said, "If you want, I can promise to cage her up in the house. She would never step out again —not for work, not for anything. A house arrest for her entire life. She will never cause you or your wife any more trouble. Please ... just let her go this time."

Aiden turned his head slightly, his eyes narrowing with a faint glimmer of amusement. "A house arrest?" he repeated, as though the words were both amusing and pitiful.

Caden nodded eagerly. "Yes. We will never let her leave our mansion. Trust me, trust my word. She will stay under our watch until we find someone suitable to marry her off to."

"And what if you break your word, Mr. Martin?" Aiden asked, his voice low and dangerous. He caught the flicker of hesitation in Caden’s eyes and sneered. "What? You are suddenly not very sure that you will be able to keep her under your watch."

Caden shook his head quickly. "No, that’s not it, Aiden. It’s just ... I don’t know what will make you believe me. You seem like a very different person now. You have forgotten the relationship we shared all these years. None of my words can convince you. Then —"

"I haven’t become a different person," Aiden cut him off coldly. His voice carried the finality of a blade. "I have been like this since the beginning. It’s just you, Mr. Martin, who was never familiar to me. So, don’t pretend you ever were. We were never that close."

Caden gritted, his nails digging painfully into his palm in both fury and desperation.

Aiden’s gaze flicked briefly towards Selene, who sat tied, pale and trembling on the chair, before returning to Caden again. His tone dropped to an icy calm that chilled the room.

"Remember this, Mr. Martin —after today, the Martin legacy will already be in my control. The next time you won’t get the chance to negotiate. You won’t even have time to think of a way out. I will make sure everything shatters right before your eyes while you stand helpless, witnessing it in ruins."

Caden’s breath stilled in his throat. He understood what that meant. But he didn’t show his unease. Instead, he asked expectantly, "Does that mean you will let me take her away from here?"

Aiden didn’t give him any response. He only turned and looked at Selene. "Although you haven’t learned to be grateful, if you ever learn it one day, then be grateful to my wife. It’s only because of her that I am going easy on you today. Letting you escape the worst. The next time, I wouldn’t be this liberal. So, make sure there never comes a next time."

Selene’s face hardened. She wanted to speak, but when she saw her father shaking his head, she kept her lips tight.

"Don’t worry, Aiden," Caden reassured from the side. "There won’t be a next time." He then turned to look at Tariq and ordered. "Now, what are you waiting for. Untie her."

However, Tariq never moved. He stood behind Aiden with his hands locked behind his back.

When Cadan saw his defiance, his face twisted with clear displeasure. He frowned and was about to shout when Aiden’s voice cut in.

"What’s the hurry?"

Caden turned to look at him, and the furrow between his brows deepened with confusion. "What do you mean? Didn’t you just agree to let her go?"

Aiden looked at him and nodded. "Yes, you can take her," he said; however then added, "But not right away."

"Your daughter won’t be leaving tonight. But yes, you can stay assured. We are all very principled. We won’t torture her less than she deserves and more than she can take."

"You want me to believe that?" Caden frowned.

But Tariq simply shrugged. "As I said, you don’t have much of a say here. You can choose —either you leave her here for a lifetime. Or, come tomorrow to take her."

Caden’s jaws tightened. No one had ever dared to talk to him like this ever, but today ... they all are showing him their eyes so audaciously.

"Dad!" Selene called out softly, not ready to submit.

"Stay here," Caden said without even turning to look her way. "I will come to pick you up tomorrow. Don’t worry, I will take you away."

Selene shook her head, refusing to accept it. Struggling, she tried to break free. However, no matter how she tried, she couldn’t move at all.

Caden flicked a glance at her before he looked away and walked towards the exit.

"Dad, don’t leave me. Please ..." She shouted, pleading. But her father neither slowed nor stopped for her. He just abandoned her there to accept the fate.
