Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 152

The middle-aged man standing before Giselle was no stranger. It was Ethan, Donovan's oldest brother.

For a second, Giselle thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. She even took a step closer just to be sure, only to realize she was right. The two of them hadn't interacted much in the past, but she had been to the Kane residence a few times, so she was able to recognize him at a glance.

Ethan, too, seemed a little taken aback. Realizing he was staring at Giselle intently, Gideon introduced them. "Uncle Ethan, this is Ms. Holt… my friend."

"Friend? What kind of friend? When did you two meet?" Ethan's sharp gaze bore into Giselle, his expression darkening.

"About half a month ago." Gideon was perplexed by Ethan's reaction. The latter's eyes were full of wariness and dislike toward her.

Gideon thought Ethan was about to chastise him for spending too much time chasing women, so he smiled and walked over to stand beside him. "Don't get the wrong idea, Uncle Ethan. Ms. Holt is a veterinarian.

"I simply asked her to treat my dog. She's just an ordinary friend."

It was obvious that the usually arrogant and overbearing Gideon had turned into a well-behaved young man in front of Ethan. He chose his words carefully, as if he was afraid of offending him.

After realizing the relationship between them, Giselle took a deep breath, greeted Ethan politely, and told Gideon, "Give me Chipper. I'll take him back with me and have him groomed tomorrow. Then, I'll return him to you."

Gideon didn't seem too keen on that arrangement. "What's the rush? Sit down for a bit and let me finish talking to my uncle first."

"That won't be necessary." Giselle wanted nothing to do with the Kanes anymore. Plastering a smile on her face, she said, "You two carry on. I'll get your secretary to set everything up for Chipper."
