On the drive back home, Gideon made a quick call to Ethan. "Hello? Uncle Ethan, do you have time right now? Come over to my place. I have something really important to discuss with you. Yeah, alright. See you soon."
"Aren't we bothering your uncle too much?" Giselle asked. "Maybe we should just go to him instead."
"It's not a bother. Uncle Ethan and I have always interacted like this. He usually stays at either the company or the Kane family estate, but he doesn't let me show up at either place. So whenever there's something I need to talk about, I just call him to come over. The place I'm in is basically his, too."
Half an hour later, they arrived at Gideon's villa.
When they walked into the living room, Ethan was already seated on the couch, waiting.
Clearly, this man truly valued his adopted son. Even as the busy head of the massive conglomerate, Ethan could still drop everything for him.
Gideon wrapped his arm naturally around Giselle's waist as they stepped forward. "Uncle Ethan, sorry to keep you waiting. What I wanted to talk about is Ms. Holt and me."
Ethan's brows furrowed as he watched them approach.
"Mr. Kane," Giselle greeted politely.
"What's the meaning of this?"
"Uncle Ethan, I have good news," Gideon said with a faint smile. "Giselle and I are getting married. You're the only family I truly care about in this world. Of course, I had to share the joy with you first."
Ethan's face darkened with fury. "This is ridiculous! I don't have time for this nonsense. Take back everything you just said!"
