In that moment, Sebastian's unexpected gesture earned him a flicker of respect from Giselle.
Gideon patted his shoulder, a faint smile on his lips. "Not bad. You've finally shown some sense. When I have time, I'll take you out for a race to thank you properly."
Sebastian grinned. "Mr. Grayson, no need to be so formal. You're about to be my brother-in-law. We're family. Of course we help each other. Stay for dinner, and I'll apologize on my Mom's behalf. We can have a few drinks together, man to man."
Seeing Sebastian side so openly with Gideon, Renee was seething, wondering how she'd raised such a useless son.
"No dinner," Giselle said flatly. With her documents in hand, she had no intention of staying a moment longer. She nudged Gideon. "Let's go."
Gideon gave Tony a parting look, half a smile playing on his lips. "Mr. Holt, it's my first visit to your home. If I did anything out of line, I hope you'll excuse me. Goodbye."
With that, he followed Giselle out the door.
Sebastian made to follow them, but Renee grabbed his arm, her patience snapping. She slapped him hard across the face. "You worthless brat! Why would you hand her her documents? You can't do even one thing right. You just make trouble."
Sebastian, spoiled his whole life, snapped the moment Renee slapped him, fury boiling over. "I'm the worthless brat? I think you're the one who's lost it! Do you even know who Gideon is? You think he's just trying to scare you? If Giselle marries him, she'll have the strongest backing she could get. Stop being blind to the situation!"
After barking out those words, Sebastian stormed off toward the stairs, still fuming with every step.
