For a while after that, Surtur, the chief of the armed forces unit nearby, would bring his men over frequently to utilize the free-of-charge services provided as per the "resolution plan" that Orin had provided.
In the beginning, Surtur only brought a couple of men, then it grew to a handful of men, and after that, the party grew to a dozen of them. The frequency of them coming had also increased from once a week to a few times per week, making it seem like they had become the armed forces' private brothel.
These men had been at war for years, causing their mannerisms to be crude and brutish. For them to be able to come to places like these for some form of release, it was no wonder that they would cause the ladies there to suffer terribly. They had killed two ladies as well.
Orin was naturally the one suffering the biggest losses in the face of them taking advantage of the situation. It was his territory, he paid to purchase those ladies, and this place was supposed to be a place providing high-value services to wealthy perverts.
But now, it had become a place where these men would come and vent their rage for free. His pockets were bleeding; it was a total loss for him.
Two weeks later, when Surtur brought along two dozen of his men to frequent his brothel, Orin couldn't take it anymore and asked for a re-discussion of the resolution plan with Surtur.
That afternoon, Giselle was still going through room by room with her medicine kit when she got a glimpse of the heated discussion going on in Orin's room. She saw that both Orin and Surtur were pointing their guns at each other's faces. Orin's men and Surtur's men were also in a standoff.
Both parties had guns with them. It was impossible to tell who had the upper hand just by looking at them.
At this moment, all of Orin's attention and energy were on Surtur as they negotiated. They would burst into an argument every now and then.
Orin had gathered nearly all his men here just to handle these people. To create a state of equal footing with Surtur's men, not only were the pimps, who were usually tasked to control and manage the ladies, all away from their posts at that moment to be there, even the people who were usually in charge of watching the main gates were there too.
Giselle watched the chaos unfold in the room and assumed that the negotiation wouldn't end anytime soon, since it could either resolve peacefully or it could end up with them in a shooting battle.
