Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 327

"I don't have time." Giselle cut Tony off without hesitation.

"Don't be like that," Tony pleaded, his voice softening. "After everything you've been through lately, barely escaping with your life, I never even hosted a dinner to welcome you home—"

"Say one more bullshit and I'm hanging up." Giselle's tone was sharp with impatience.

"Alright, alright," Tony said quickly, getting to the point. "It's mainly about Anne. She told me she's decided to formally end her engagement with Donovan. She admitted she was wrong in how she treated you, and she wants to leave the country for a while to calm down. But before she goes, she wants to apologize to you in person. That's why I'm asking you to come."

Hearing that, Giselle nearly laughed in disbelief. "Has she lost her mind?"

Tony sighed. "Giselle, no matter what, you two are sisters by blood. Most of the conflict between you came from Donovan. I really think she means it this time—she doesn't want things to stay ugly forever. She wants to apologize sincerely. Please, just come share a meal."

"And why should I accept her apology?"

"Whether you accept it or not is up to you," Tony coaxed. "But can't you at least come for my sake? Just once, for a family dinner."

She snapped back, "Do you really think your so-called sake means that much to me?"

Before Tony could find more words, a soft, weak voice filtered through the line. It was Anne's.

"Giselle, I truly want to make peace tonight. Please have dinner with us. And I have something important to give you."
