Chapter 45 

When Donovan entered the living room, he immediately noticed Giselle. He froze for a moment, gasping silently. 

Though he was now used to her shocking antics, he still couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger at the sight of her in his home. He glared at her without saying a 

word. 

Sensing exactly what was on his mind, Giselle similed at him provocatively. In that instant, she made up her mind. 

Turning to Zachary, she said calmly, “Zach, I’m suddenly feeling a little hungry. I think I’ll accept Mrs. Kane Senior’s offer and stay for dinner before I leave.” “Sure!” Zachary replied eagerly. Hearing that she had agreed to stay, he was thrilled. Without hesitation, he pulled her toward the dining table to grab a seat. Sering that Donovan had come home, Dorothea gently set her beloved cat aside and called everyone to the dining room. As for Donovan, his gaze never left Giselle. He simply couldn’t tear his eyes away from her.

Lowering his voice, Zachary added softly, “Uncle Don, can you stop holding a grudge against her? And please help me say a few good words to my parents later. Since I brought her home, you should know what that means.” 

With that, he hurried back to the dining room and sat beside Giselle, ignoring Donovan’s disapproval entirely. Zachary cared for Giselle so openly that she couldn’t help but feel awloward throughout dinner. 

Facing Zachary’s enthusiasm, Giselle found herself distracted. She kept glancing at Donovan from time to time.
