Chapter 60
“Whatever.” Donovan didn’t want to argue with Zachary any longer and warned, “If you’re going to mess around with Giselle and let your grades slip, I’ll have your father freeze all your cards, I’d like to see if that shut would still give you a second look when you’re broke!”
Zachary stiffened, seething with anger. For a moment, he nearly lost control and almost threw a punch.
But Donovan was right. Zachary was only 24, still an undergraduate. Despite living the lavish life of a top–tier heir and having everything he wanted, he wasn’t financially independent yet,
As the Kane family’s only grandchild, he held shares in the Kane Group that brought in a sizable annual retum. His parents spoiled him with endless cash.
Donovan also transfered money to him regularly, and none of his cards had spending limits.
The entire family treated him like royalty, but only as long as he stayed on the right path.
Fooling around with women was tolerated. But if he ever dared cross the line like some of those notorious trust–fund brats–brealong the law or shaming the Family name–1 their financial grip would tighten instantly,
Zachary knew full well he couldn’t fight them yet. Without money, he was nothing. In the end, he could only curse Donovan under his breath before storming off in
his cat
As for Giselle, after leaving Donovan’s villa, she stopped by her shop for a quick inspection to check on its current operations.
Since suffering a major setback last time, she was down to just a pet hospital and a pet grooming salon, both of which had been relocated and rebranded. Most of the employees were the same as before.
Revenue had been at th half, but at least things were on track. With her experience in the field, she was confident she could rebuild the brand within a year.
The store was well–staffed, and as the owner, she didn’t need to be there daily, she only stepped in for serious client disputes or difficult medical cases that the vets couldn’t handle.
