Giselle was genuinely worried that if Dorothea got angry enough, she might pull some strings to have Eastin “arrested“. 

After all, dogs of Eastin’s breed were banned in certain areas. And on top of that, Eastin was undeniably aggressive. 

Given the current situation, she didn’t want to get entangled with Anne, Renee, and Dorothea any further. 

Giselle grabbed her phone and car keys, then left the living room without saying a word. Eastin quickly chased after her. 

She got in the car, stepped on the gas, and drove away from the villa with Eastin as fast as she could. 

Thinking back to the faces she had just seen–especially Dorothea’s scomful words–Giselle’s mood sank. Her plan had indeed included trying to win her over 

After all, Dorothea was the matriarch of the Kanes and Donovan’s mother. Gaining her approval was key to resolving everything at its core. 

But now, thanks to Renee’s scheme, she’d been framed and labeled with such a serious accusation that no amount of explanation could clear her name. 

After wallowing in frustration for a while, Giselle figured her reputation was already in ruins, and trying to explain anything to Dorothea was pointless. She might just give up entirely and let it crash and bum 

Giselle drove aimlessly for half an hour. When she checked the time and saw it was noon, she decided to head to Donovan’s company for help.
