Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1035

Amelia was over the moon to realize that George was awake this time when they arrived at the hospital.

Although George was still wheelchair-bound and unable to speak, Amelia was grateful that she could at least tell his emotions from his eyes.

At this moment, George was staring at her. His fingers resting on the wheelchair trembled as a result of his attempt to lift them.

Alice came across this scene as soon as she walked out from the washroom. Smiling, she said, "Amelia, I guess your father is saying that he wants to hold your hand."

"Mm." Amelia acknowledged her words politely before she bent down to pick up George's hand.

Feeling worried that George might not feel her hand, she squeezed his hand in hers tightly.

George could neither move his head nor speak for himself. Hence, he could only rely on his cloudy eyes to communicate his thinking to others.

After all, there was no way possible that Amelia could read his mind, not to mention the fact that the time she grew up spending with him was rather limited. Therefore, even if she could tell from his eyes that he was delighted, she was not sure about the exact reason behind it.

She thought that it might be best for her to ask Alice.

After holding his hand for awhile, Amelia put his hand down gently before she turned around and spoke to Alice, "Can I have a word with you, Aunt Alice?"

"Sure." Alice gave her a tiny nod before she turned and spoke to Patrick, "Can you please look after your dad while we're away, Patrick?

Half an hour ago I had just fed him. Considering the time now, I guess he will need to use the washroom in a short while. If you see him struggling to move his fingers, just let me know. Okay?"

Patrick replied, "Alright. Got it."

Alice could bring herself to leave with Amelia after obtaining Patrick's assurance.

They had not wandered to anywhere far. In fact, they stopped by the corridor to talk.

Upon closing the door of the ward behind her gently, Alice sounded warm and friendly as she spoke, "Amelia, what do you want to tell me?"

Amelia could not help glancing at the ward in order to ensure that Patrick could not overhear their conversation. It was only then she whispered, "Aunt Alice, my father had known about the planning project in Eastern District, hadn't he?"

Alice was phobic as soon as she heard Amelia picking up this topic. She updated, "You're right. As soon as your father woke up this morning, I had already told him about this good news.

Besides, I also explained to him with regards to the details of this planning project as well as the profit that Apex Construction Corporation is going to make through this project. There was no doubt that he was excited upon hearing this news as his lips trembled agitatedly. At the sight of this, I hurriedly called a doctor over.

Eventually, the doctor had to stuff a piece of cloth into his mouth in order to prevent him from biting his tongue accidentally. The doctor only removed it when your father was much calmer. I'm so sorry, Amelia. I almost ruined your good news."

Amelia was saddened as she learned this from Alice. She was aware that George's condition could turn quite a handful especially she had witnessed it herself before.

She could still recall the scene when George had a seizure right after Kaleb whispered to him with an insidious smile. She would not forget the day when George could not help convulsing with foaming at

his mouth.

All this while she thought that George would only become like this when he learned of bad news.

What she did not expect was that even a good news would turn George to suffer the similar way.

Seeing the pale expression of Alice when she recalled the incident earlier, Amelia wished that she could make her feel better. After all, it was not Alice's fault that her father had ended up in this condition.

"Aunt Alice, you're not the one to be blamed for this unfortunate that fell on my dad. After all, no one ever thought that he would end up contracted with such a strange illness."

It was not Alice's words that caught her attention. In fact, she was staring at Patrick's slender hands. She could not help thinking that Patrick had just assisted her father in urinating with his bare hands.

"Is this even possible?

Isn't he having mysophobia?"

Just as Amelia was stuck in her thoughts of disbelief, Patrick glanced up at their direction and explained, "You're back. Just now I saw dad's fingers were trembling agitatedly. Seeing that both of you were engaged in your conversation, I thought that I can help to bring dad to the washroom. Don't worry, Aunt Alice. I see nothing abnormal from his urine. He didn't defecate though."

Alice listened attentively to Patrick's words. What was more, she began to update Patrick with George's condition, "It made sense though. He had already defecated earlier around noon time."

"Glad to hearthat." Patrick nodded solemnly.

Amelia listened to their conversation in puzzelement.

She had never thought that such a common conversation would ever take place between Patrick and Alice.

Besides, perhaps Alice was convinced that they were a pair of lovely spouses. That was why she did not seem surprised at what Patrick had done for George.

She wondered what should she do next.

It seemed like she had made a wrong move.

Had Patrick continued to visit George in his ward, he was going to impress Alice and get her approval of him, not to mention that he was always good at disguising his true character in front of others.

In addition, despite the fact that George was incapable to speak for himself, he was after all a man in his right mind. He could see what Patrick had done for him through his own eyes and remember it by heart.
