Patrick would like to ensure that she could keep the secret regarding Sissi from the knowledge of granny and gramps at all cost!
If that was the case...
At the thought of this, Amelia asked ruthlessly, "If I say that I want your Roxxon Corporation, will you give it to me?"
Patrick answered without a doubt, "I will."
Amelia's gaze went colder. She continued to ask, "How about if I say I want your life?"
It took Patrick a while before he muttered, "I will give it to you too." After all, ever since the day they got married, Patrick thought that he already surrendered his life to her.
Amelia looked at him expressionlessly. Anyone who came across this scene might think that she was calm and cruel. However, only she herself knew that she was dumbfounded by his reply.
After a long pause, she sneered, "I'm moved by how much you care for her."
With that said, she opened the door and got out of the car.
Seeing that Amelia was leaving, Patrick hurriedly paced up to stop her from leaving.
Amelia's gaze fell on him before she looked away in the next second irritably. She asked in annoyance, "Anything else?"
Staring at her beautiful face, Patrick replied sternly, "You haven't given an answer to me."
Amelia felt like she was being questioned under duress by him. She wondered if he did not bother to disguise the amount of care he had towards Sissi at all. Otherwise, he would not have demanded for an answer from her still after the painful conversation that they had undergone earlier.
She could not help but reach out to run through her hair that stuck on her neck irritably.
In the next second, her hand that was hanging in the middle of air was being forcibly grabbed.
There was no doubt that Patrick was the only person who would inflicted force on her.
Squinting, there was doubts in his darkened gaze.
"Don't touch me!" Amelia flung her hand frantically.
Amelia was about to leave after successfully getting rid of his hand. However, in the next second, Patrick held her shoulder forcibly and forced her to turn around and face him.
Forcing Amelia to look at him in the eyes, Patrick began to speak with his voice sounded hoarse, "I've never seen you wearing this bracelet before!"
Upon meeting his questionable look, she replied expressionlessly, "Aren't you seeing it now?"
"Where did you get this bracelet from?" Patrick was not a fool after all. Judging from the texture and color of the jade bracelet, he could tell that this was not a piece of jewelry that could be obtained from any ordinary jewelry shop.
Patrick could only think of one possibility. It would only be possible that Amelia had gotten it from an auction.
However, Amelia was living under the same roof with him every day, not to mention the fact that there was no auction held in Northville these days. At least none that he knew of. Hence, it soon became a suspicious question of the origin of the jade bracelet.
Amelia could not tell his mood from his dubious gaze. Chuckling, she said anyway, "This is a gift I received from someone else. Don't worry. I didn't spend any single penny from The Hopper Family for this bracelet."
Her words immediately painted a hint of anger on his face. In fact, he was triggered by the fact that Amelia excluded herself from The Hopper Family.
"Don't you forget that you're part of The Hopper
Family!" He reminded coldly.
Amelia sneered.
Patrick held his breath in anger. Before he could realize what was he doing, he had already reached out to Amelia's chest.
"What are you doing?!" Disregarding her screaming, he outrageously pulled out the necklace that she had been hiding underneath her shirt.
He could see a wedding ring dangling at the end of the necklace.
Patrick immediately grabbed the wedding ring without hesitation. He could seemingly feel her temperature on the ring that he was holding in his hand. After all, she had been wearing the necklace and wedding ring that he gifted to her all this while. The thought of this made him regain his rationality.
Amelia had not expected that he would reach out to her chest all in a sudden, let alone taking out the wedding ring that she had been hiding underneath her garment all this while.
Any slight movement would no doubt strangle her neck since Patrick was still holding the necklace in his hand. Hence, she froze on her feet, waiting for him to let go of the necklace.
Most importantly, having in mind his unpredictable move, she could not scold him at this time, or else she might as well trigger him. Either way, she was the victim of his violence.
Meeting the resentful gaze from Amelia, Patrick eventually released his grip on the wedding ring.
Precisely speaking, it was Amelia's temperature remaining on the wedding ring that had driven him to let go of it.
As soon as she was freed, Amelia began to massage her neck in order to ease the discomfort caused by the pressure of the necklace.
Patrick continued to stare at the wedding ring which was now exposed in the air. He could not help comparing, "If the broken piece from Milton is priceless to you, tell me then what does the wedding ring from me mean to you?"
"What else does it mean?" Having in mind the grudge that she had been holding against him since yesterday night, Amelia replied ruthlessly, "Have you forgotten the fact that you had been giving it to me unwillingly? I accepted the ring because it represents my identity as the daughter-in-law of The Hopper Family. However, I can return to you at any time if you decide to divorce me and marry someone else one day!"
"Amelia!" Patrick sounded as if he was going to rip her apart and eat her alive when he uttered her name ferociously.
Amelia replied irritably, "I'm right in front of you and there's no problem with my hearing. You don't have to raise your voice at me."
