On the other hand, Ashley had successfully flattered Patrick with her ice cream, she ran into Andrew and boasted, "Look, Amelia won't eat your ice cream. It turns out that I'm more attractive!"
Andrew immediately turned to look at Patrick just to see that he was already eating the cup of ice cream that Ashley had handed over to him despite his darkened expression as if he was forced into eating it.
Andrew could not help but frown. He was not willing to admit that he had been defeated by his younger sister.
At the though of this, Andrew plucked up his courage and held his ice-cream up high again. He began to confess, "Amelia, I would like to have an indirect kiss with you!"
Everyone present was dumbfounded by his words.
During the awkward silence, only Ashley snorted, "You can do better."
Coming back to her senses, Amelia took the cup of ice-cream from his hand despite finding his words amusing.
She took a spoonful of ice cream and put it into her mouth. Amelia soon realized that Andrew was already blushing hard at the sight of her eating his cup of ice-cream.
Ashley seemed happy for her brother too, "Andrew, you're happy that you successfully kissed Amelia, aren't you?"
Blushing, Andrew murmured, "Stop the nonsense! I'm not!"
Ashley winked at him mischievously before she continued to tease him, "Oh? Then why are you blushing now?"
Andrew retorted anxiously, "I said that I'm not!"
"Andrew, admit it! You don't have to feel embarrassed!" Ashley stuck out her tongue at her brother playfully.
"I said that I'm not!" Andrew began to raise his voice in anger after being provoked by his sister.
"Alright. That's enough." Nora hurriedly came forward to separate the twins. She was scared that they might end up in a brawl at any time.
Amelia did not bother to finish the cup of ice-cream. She squatted down and pulled Andrew to her side while Patrick on the other hand, began to lecture Ashley.
It could be understood that Amelia and Patrick were the best mediators that must work hand in hand to resolve the conflicts between Ashley and Andrew every time they got into an argument.
It did not take long for them to calm the twins down. Moreover, the kids began to shake their hands as a sign of settlement after being led and encouraged by Amelia and Patrick. At the sight of this, Nora exchanged a look with Owen before she joked, "Hubby, I begin to suspect that they are not our kids."
Owen thought for a moment before he laughed, "I guess fate has brought Amelia and Patrick to our kids."
Nora added, "At the end of the day, Amelia is the one that fate had brought to Patrick. It's Patrick's honor to have a wife like Amelia who adores kids."
Nora did not seem to bother lowering down her voice. Upon hearing this, the smile on the corner of Amelia's mouth began fading.
She could not bring herself to agree with Nora. After all, she did not think she was the one that Patrick wanted to marry. Hence, it was not adding up to regard their marriage as a blessing that Patrick should feel honored with.
Owen nodded approvingly at his wife's words. He then called out to everyone, "We shall talk in the house. Let's go."
Pausing, Owen thought of something and asked, "By the way, Patrick, what did you and Amelia get for gramps and granny as a welcome gift?"
Hearing this, Patrick pointed a finger at himself before he took a glance at Amelia in a gesture that their presence was already the best gift for the elders.
Patrick snorted as soon as he met Owen's speechless gaze.
After all, he was here for the sake of Granny Hopper. Hence, he thought that Gramps Hopper should be grateful that he was willing to come and meet him, let alone expecting a gift.
Owen rubbed his nose awkwardly after realizing that he had asked the obvious.
The fact that Gramps Hopper had forced Sissi to leave Northville was no doubt the reason that Patrick had been holding a grudge against him. Therefore, Patrick had made the biggest compromise by coming to see Gramps Hopper. Whether he brought a gift or not did not matter anymore.
Ashley immediately announced, "Daddy and mommy can go first. I want my uncle to hold my hand!"
Although Andrew remained silence, it was not hard to tell from his stationary position that he had chosen to stay with Amelia.
Nora showed a melancholic look towards them while Owen happily held her shoulder and said, "Let them do whatever they want. Kids no longer want to stay with us parents when they grow up."
Amelia returned the cup of ice-cream that she had only eaten a spoonful of it to Andrew. She then said gently, "You can eat while you walk with me, but make sure that you must watch your steps too."
Andrew obediently replied, "Alright."
At the sight of Amelia's thoughtfulness and affection towards Andrew, Patrick could not help feeling relieved.
So long as Andrew and Ashley continued to adore her, he was convinced that she would neither leave him or let any other women to replace her position!
Amelia was getting tense upon entering the house.
After all, it would not be easy for her to deal with the people inside the house.
Realizing the change of expression of Amelia, Nora could not help but concern, "Amelia, are you okay?"
Amelia replied, "I'm fine, Nora."
She had not told anyone regarding the incident where Eve had poured two buckets of cold water over her. In fact, she had not planned to let anyone know either.
She thought that there was no need to play the victim in front of anyone. After all, it was important to move on from the past.
Upon entering the house, the group began to take off their shoes and put on the slippers that the servants had gotten forthem.
