Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1050

The most senior servant led them into the hall after they had put their slippers on.

Gramps Hopper had a stern face on and Granny Hopper had put on a friendly one. They could be seen sitting in the middle of the spacious hall.

As for Howard and Eve, both of them sat on the other side of the couch while listening to Gramps Hopper's lectured them.

Amelia could not tell what had he been telling Eve. All she heard was Eve replying earnestly, "Yes, dad. I will take note on this..."

Amelia had never seen Eve behaved as such. According to her memory, she had known Eve to be someone who was stuck-up who could never be reasoned with. That was why she was impressed by the influence Gramps Hopper had over the entire Hopper Family.

After the servant had led the group to the hall, Gramps Hopper ended the conversation with Eve before he swept a glance at the youngsters.

There was affection in his eyes when his gaze fell on Owen.

This was mainly because Owen had been growing up with Gramps Hopper. Hence, under his undue influence, Owen had committed himself to the duty as a member of army.

Therefore, Gramps Hopper could not help recalling the days he spent in army every time he looked at his eldest grandchild.

On the other hand, Eve felt exactly different towards Owen's commitment as a soldier. She could not help but view Owen's crippled leg as a disability, whereas Gramps Hopper thought that it was a life-long award that signified his contribution to the country. Hence, every time when he stared at Owen's leg that got shot, he could not help feeling sorry yet proud of his grandson.

Shifting his gaze from Owen to Nora who was standing next to him, Gramps Hopper nodded in an unnoticeable manner.

Although Nora was not someone who came from an elite background, she was no doubt equipped with wife material and that she had never troubled The Hopper Family so far.

Most importantly, she had given birth to twins, which were both healthy and adorable.

These criteria alone were more than enough for her to be accepted and recognized as part of The Hopper Family!

Gramps Hopper's gaze subsequently fell onto

Patrick who was next to Nora.

Upon seeing his second grandchild,

Gramps Hopper could not help but snort. The loudness of his snort was enough to illustrate the annoyance he had towards Patrick.

Everyone at the hall could not help feeling terrified at the noise Gramps Hopper had made.

In fact, Patrick was the only one who remained expressionless. It seemed like he was not moved by his anger at all.

Moreover, he had responded to Gramps Hopper by sneering.

Gramps Hopper could not help but frown. It was not that he did not want to teach Patrick a lesson. He merely did not want to get mad and cause a scene on this special day when everyone in The Hopper Family got to gather together.

Therefore, he chose to shift his gaze from Patrick to Amelia.

At the same time, Amelia had realized that Gramps Hopper was staring at her.

Feeling a chill running down her spine. She subconsciously straightened herself in order to leave a good impression on Gramps Hopper.

As opposed to her wish, she was not getting any better treatment than Patrick did.

Gramps Hopper's judgmental gaze swept from her long hair until it finally landed on her belly.

As a retired soldier who had spent most of his life in the armed force, he always preferred women to have their hair short in order to look neat and smart. As for women with long hair, he would at least expect them to tie their hair up. There was no doubt that Nora had paid attention to his expectation.

As for Amelia.

She had let her hair down which made her look not well kept and sloppy.

Her two strands of hair were tucked behind both sides of her ears, her delicately small face caved an impression that she was overly skinny. Outsiders might even think that she had been ill-treated by The Hopper Family!

Then he stared at her belly.

Even as an elder who had came across all sort of high and low in life, Gramps Hopper could not help but feel like sighing.

Amelia could not help feeling relieved as soon as Gramps Hopper glanced away.

While she heaved a sigh of relief, she caught a glimpse of the smile on Patrick's face from the corner of her eyes.

She was triggered by the fact that Patrick had been looking at her as a joke.

Amelia could not help but shot a glare at him. However, she had to withdraw her stare right away after being caught by Patrick.

'Andrew, Ashley, both of you come over here."

Despite the stern expression, Amelia could tell that he sounded kind and approachable when he called out to his great-grandchildren.

She could not help wondering if Gramps Hopper would ever speak to her in that way.

In the next second, Amelia withdrew herself from such a thought as she soon found out that it was not really possible.

Unlike the remaining adults who were in awe of Gramps, Andrew and Ashley did not feel the same way. Hence, upon being called over by their greatgrandfather, they came in front of him without hesitation.

Both of them greeted him before they did the same to Granny Hopper.

It was undeniable that both of the kids were extraordinarily adorable. Even Gramps Hopper who was known to be cold-hearted could not help feeling flattered by their greeting, "It's nice to see you again."

In the next second, Andrew and Ashley began to reach out and pull Gramps Hopper beard as if it was the only fun out of him.

There was needless to say as for Granny Hopper. It could be seen that she had directly carried the kids over and began pinching their cheeks. There was no doubt Andrew who was shy in character found it difficult to adapt himself to her overwhelmed affection for her great-grandchild.

Ashley was giggling on the other hand, she did not find Granny Hopper's touching unacceptable. Instead, she had rubbed her face in between the palms of Granny like a kitten.

Once Granny Hopper was done playing with the kids, Gramps carried them back to his embrace again.

"Kiddos, answer me honestly. Did you pay attention in class during school? Had you completed your homework on time after school?"
