Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1113

Sissi continued, "One day, I realized that I began to talk to myself in the wall. This realization frightened me! I'm asking for nothing much but to have you come over and accompany me once in a week. That's all I'm asking for. But why did you have to stand me up?"

Patrick lost his words all of a sudden.

"I understand that it's hard to tell me the reason that you had to stand me up. Why not I tell you instead. You were caught up with accompanying Amelia for breakfast."

Sissi stared at him in silence after finishing her words.

Patrick thought for awhile before he asked, "Dad was the one who told you this, am I right?"

Sissi spoke sarcastically, "Yeah! He even recorded and showed me a video as a proof in fear that I might not be convinced."

Patrick frowned. He was not pleased to know that Howard was pulling a trick at his back.

Coming back to his senses, he admitted, "It's my fault for standing you up this time. But where are those pregnancy books that I've gotten you when I last saw you?"

He thought that those books would at least keep her occupied.

Sissi replied faintly, "I've thrown them away."

"Why did you throw them away?"

Sissi's eyes were painted with sorrow as she muttered, "This child is going to leave me anyway once it comes to the world. What for am I reading those books? There's no way that he is going to be accepted as part of the Hopper Family."

After she brought this matter again up, he asked, "Are you hoping that this child will be accepted by Hopper Family?"

Nodding, Sissi explained, "Yes. I've told you earlier. The only way to prevent this child from being taken away by my ex-husband is to take him as your child. Otherwise, if it is taken away by my ex-husband, I'm afraid that he will use him as a tool for revenge."

In a split of second, Patrick could vaguely tell that something did not add up to him. However, he could not pinpoint it out.

In the midst of dealing with his own frustration, Sissi had already placed her hand on his as she begged, "Patrick, for the sake of the memories and past we once shared, could you please help my child out?"

As much as he could recall, Sissi was always a person full of pride. He could not help but wonder if she was left without a choice but to put aside her dignity and start begging.

At the end of the day, he should not have hidden her in Northville at the very first place. His action was no more than exposing her to the influence of The Hopper Family.

Upon meeting her helpless gaze, Patrick could not help feeling sympathetic towards her. He asked, "Are you expecting me to fight with your ex-husband over the custody of this child?"

"Yes! Only you can be the father of this child!"

There came the sound of door knocking.

Pulling together himself from his emotions, he called out calmly, "Come in!"

It turned out that Howard's underlings had knocked the door.

"Mr. Patrick, Mr. Howard said that you can't stay long."

Patrick snorted, "Humph!"

Initially, he thought of keeping his promise that he made with Howard. However, it turned out that Howard was the one who broke his own promise at the very first place.

Had Howard not recorded the video with intention to provoke Sissi, she would not end up injuring herself.

Seeing that Patrick was not planning to move, the underling said again, "Mr. Patrick, please don't make it hard for me."

Patrick was outrageous as he blasted, "Have you forgotten who you are? It is none of your business even if I decide to stay overnight!"

"If you're not going to cooperate with us, I'm afraid that I have no other choice but to chase you out."

"I dare you to rest your hand on me!"

At this critical moment, Sissi hurriedly persuaded, "Patrick, listen to me! Don't fight with Mr. Howard's underlings!"

Upon hearing this, Patrick turned around and looked at her.

Sighing, Sissi added, "Listen to Mr. Howard and go back now."

She could not let Patrick stay any longer. Otherwise, it was just a matter of one call that Howard would be alerted with Patrick's refusal to leave. In that case, she was the only one who had to suffer.

She had already achieved what she wanted which was to let Patrick know what had she gone through.

Patrick decided to listen to her this time.

He decided not to tangle with Howard's underlings. He asked Sissi, "Are you sure that you're fine on your own?"

Despite stuttering, Abner managed to read out the full sentence. Amelia nodded satisfactorily as she praised, "You're a smart boy, Abner."

Upon hearing this, Abner blinked his eyes in shyness.

Amelia taught him for another half an hour. It was only then she paused and touched Abner's head, "Abner, let's take a short break now, what do you think?"

Abner nodded.

"You can't be nodding only, Abner. You need to tell me yes or no." Amelia was not going to let him ease it off without talking it out loud.

Abner stammered, "Yes."

There was sound of door knocking right after his reply. Someone called out from outside, "Ms. Ramsay, may I come in?"

Amelia exchanged a look with Abner in order to ensure that he was fine with someone else coming in. She then responded, "Is it Savannah? Please come in!"

Savannah pushed the door open before she said, "Ms. Ramsay, I'm sorry that I have to disturb you. I noticed that forty minutes time is up. That's why I would like to invite you and Abner for a tea break before you can resume."

Smiling, Amelia said, "Sure! It happens that I need to use the washroom. Can you please take care of Abner while I'm away?"

Savannah gave her a tiny nod before she replied, "There's no problem."

Amelia caught Abner staring at her through the corner of her eyes. She could not help but think of her task which was to make Abner an outgoing kid.

Having this in mind, she lifted Abner's chin with her index finger before she said smilingly, "Abner, be a good boy and wait for me to come back. I'll continue to pamper you later."

Savannah's expression changed upon hearing this.

Abner's lips parted a little as he murmured, "Okay."

Amelia was disappointed at his reaction.

She had to admit that Abner was an adorable kid. However, she always found him dull and boring as compared to other kids who were cheerful and lively.

Pouting, Amelia straightened herself and began walking towards the door.

Savannah was yet to recover from shock. She could not help wondering if Abner actually knew that he had just been flirted by Amelia.
