She could not tell what Kaiden had told Alice. All she knew was that Alice was entertained by his companion.

Amelia could not help frowning. She was alarmed at Alice's behavior who seemed to give a stranger benefit of doubt way too easily.

As Amelia approached them, she could overhear the conversation between them. Kaiden flattered, "Aunt Alice, may I know how old you are?"

Alice replied without a doubt, "Oh, I'm already in my forties."

Kaiden replied in disbelief, "No way! You're at most in your late thirties to me!"

Alice broke out in a laughter before she said, "That's so sweet of you! There's no wonder that Amelia will like you."

Amelia felt alarmed as to what Kaiden had told Alice in order to cast her misunderstanding.

Kaiden began boasting, "Ha! To be frank, Amelia said the same too after she had a taste of my lips!"

"Ah?" Alice was taken aback by shock at his words.

It was at that moment, Amelia decided she could no longer let Kaiden mislead Alice. She bolted to Alice and grabbed her arms protectively. She then shot a glance at Kaiden in gesture for him to leave right away.

Kaiden could not help feeling relieved at the sight of her return. In fact, he was waiting anxiously for her to show up as he did not want her to spend any second longer with Shawn alone.

"Amelia, tell me what's going on between the two of you." Alice struggled to recover from shock.

Alice just couldn't bring herself to believe that Amelia would ever have any affairs with other men frivolously. However, she could not help giving the extraordinarily good-looking man benefit of doubt. Hence, she needed to see what Amelia had to say about it.

Without a surprise, Amelia gritted, "Aunt Alice, don't believe his nonsense! There's no such things!"

Alice nodded intensely after hearing Amelia's denial, "Okay, I won't.."

Kaiden was not going to cave in right away. He continued exaggerating, "How can you deny of all these? Do you still remember when you sat on my laps and flirted with me in your car once? I told you that I didn't want any of all this but, you insisted. In the end, you manipulated me by forcing me to work for you as your underline in your company. I know you do this just so you can harass me any time you want. But do you know that I'm only in my early twenties? With my reputation being tarnished, how are people going to look at me?"

Amelia could tell that the corner of Alice's mouth was twitching in disbelief. She was enraged at the nonsense blurted by Kaiden. She could not help but to pick up a stone from the ground in attempt to hit him.

Kaiden dodged away from her strike swiftly. Biting his lips sheepishly, he pretended to grumble, "Amelia! How can you deny everything that you've ever done to me? It's such a waste that I'm still believing you wholeheartedly. It's true that I have been serving you at your disposal regardless with all my heart!"

"Serving Amelia?" Alice felt a surge of throbbing pain in her temples. It was hard not to believe Kaiden especially with his pitiful look. She began to wonder if Amelia had indeed slept with him.

Through analyzing Alice's expression, Amelia could tell that something was off. She hurriedly explained, "It's not what you've been thinking, Aunt Alice! He is the latest chief architect in our company. That's why he has to serve for our company. But I need to clarify to you that I've never employed him by myself! He's someone appointed by the government."

Kaiden continued to play the victim card as he cried out, "Everyone denies as fast as possible whenever the dirty laundry is aired..."

Amelia took a deep breath before she grasped Alice's arms in attempt to bring her away from Kaiden who was full of lies. She said, "Aunt Alice, it's already late. We need to get going. We should get into the car now!"

"Um, alright!" The truth was that Alice could not help wondering how on earth would Amelia befriend with a handful of young men who were clearly nowhere around her age.

As soon as Amelia and Alice turned around in an attempt to leave, Kaiden who was at their back began to speak idly, "Your car key is with me."

Amelia could feel her throbbing vein in her temples. She had to blame herself for forgetting of something of such importance!

Amelia's words had caught Alice by surprise. She had not expected that Amelia could be such mean to others. Moreover, her voice was loud enough to make sure that the person sitting in front of them could hear her clearly.

As soon as Amelia finished her sentence, the car sped up uncontrollably all in a sudden before it return to a steady speed a few seconds later. It was not hard to tell that Kaiden was affected by her words.

Alice shuffled a little before she said in embarrassment, "I don't agree with you. It's just that he's too pretty as compared to most of the people out there."

Amelia replied solemnly, "Aunt Alice, I don't want to have people around thinking that I'm dating a girl."

Alice fell back into silence this time.

For the very first time in his life, Kaiden thought of undergoing plastic surgery as soon as he heard Amelia's reply to Alice.

After Alice got out of the car, Amelia took a glance at her watch and it came to a realization that it was only half past two in the afternoon. Hence, she said to Kaiden, "Drive me to work."

Kaiden was holding a grudge against her during the entire journey all this while. As soon as he heard her making order to him emotionlessly, he burst out in anger, "What the h*ll! Are you taking me as your chauffeur for real?"

Amelia took a side glance at him before she threw the question back at him, "Aren't you one?"

"Of course, I am not!" Kaiden puffed his chest manly and reinstated his goal, "I'm determined to be the father of your child!"

Amelia pouted and replied in annoyance, "You're just a kiddo. How can I expect you to be the father of my child? I won't want to burden myself by raising two kids at the same time."
